Buyer beware and do your due diligence before signing with Richmond American Homes. They do not uphold warranty issues due to poor craftsmanship. Once they have your money and you own the house it’s adios to any accountability on their end. I’ve been here for 3 plus years and can say this with confidence. My husband and I wish we would have put our money in another community. Your home is your biggest investment and you spend your hard earned money to pay for your home and in return get slapped in the face with expeensives that could have been avoided. It’s really sad but read the bad reviews and take them seriously.

Scam, took my down payment of Just under 10k January 28th with a closing of August 20th planned. March 3rd was told closing was moved to April 21st and that closing could only be changed if I paid an additional 1.5% or approx 6k and that would only get me a few weeks. Needless to say I lost my 10k and they just move right along and not a care at all. Also I spoke with counsel on the matter and this is a common practice builders use to not put dates in contracts so they can force your hand. Don't trust verbal agreements on dates make sure they are in writing! Theft is what it is called and hard working Americans always get shafted big companies.

Although I purchased a home in a different Richmond community I feel that Jessica deserves a review. She is so nice, helpful and understanding that honestly if the community would've been closer to the highway I would have definitely purchased a home from her. Even when she knew I'd be buying my home in a difference community and I came back to look at the Model for a final decision and design inspiration she was helpful and made us feel just as if we had just purchased a home from her. If you're looking for a home in Fernandina and want someone who understands you and listens you should definitely tour this community and buy from her! 🙂

Very poor work. Forced to close before things were even finished. 3 months later still not done. Wood floors cut short so there is a gap. Did not sand window sills. Doors in 4 rooms are split. Yard floods because it was graded incorrectly for the zone according to the county. Hole in master bath under the light fixture. No screws in toilet holders. Front door lock fell off. Shims showing on the back slider door. They did not cut off. Just painted over. I could go on and on. If you are thinking about a home with them DON’t. Buyer be BEWARE. I rated a 1 because I had to rate to post. I

Buyer beware. Not sure the how the sales dept is now but when we bought our home we were sold on false promises of a family friendly neighborhood. Almost 3 years later and we have watched extra homes built in what was promised as recreation areas that were also on the original development plans we were given. And warranty work is non existant so if on your pre close walk thru I suggest you dont close til your list is fixed.

Richmond American's warranty process is insane, ineffective, and designed to avoid claims. I've called 11 times to file a claim for a bathroom venting into the attic causing moisture buildup. Each time I am routed to a 3rd party call center that takes the same information and then says, "We will send this to dispatch, and someone will contact you within 72 hours." No one ever contacts you, and the cycle begins again with a call to the call center and the same response is provided. Richmond American has successfully created a moat between their buyers and their warranty process. This is a deliberate business practice concocted by MBAs who seek to maximize profit early in the sale and shun customer relationship responsibilities.

I bought a house here in September and our carpet in our bedroom is already peeling up. They have sent somebody here to try and fix it but it would peel up within 2 to 3 days. Now they are just ignoring our text to get it fixed. They are just buying time till the year is up so they don’t have to replace the carpet. Don’t buy here!
