Melanie Hawkins our realtor was absolutely awesome. Anytime there was a problem or a question she would say and I quote "if I don't know the answer I will find someone that does". Along with our loan officer Erin was full of knowledge and extremely helpful with information. I would suggest to work with those two any day of the week. The escrow and underwriting team was just awful. We almost backed out of the contract several times because of them and how they treated their jobs, in a level of terrible proficiency.

It’s been almost five month since we moved to the new house our closet door still hasn’t been installed yet،

Update they installed the closet doors after over a year but they didn’t paint it yet.

About 8 months after we moved to the house our sprinkler main burst and start leaking water all over I would never purchase a house from they and never recommend to anyone else. I’m just not sure if they think we are stupid or we was too nice and patient with them or simply that how is Richmond American homes such a shame

The home buying process was a complete joke with Richmond, Darrel the lender was the most unprofessional human I’ve ever met, didn’t care about us or our experience and was very hard to get ahold of. Richmond lied about the elevation on our home and we have signed documents proving the elevation. They did nothing to help us with the mess up, told us either walk or buy the house.

Some positives are Michelle in the Sales office was great and took care of us. Jason was great as well. The home has been good and the neighborhood is quiet and full of nice people. Overall Richmond lies and doesn’t follow through with things, also the lender is horrible, if you get Darrel switch lenders immediately, so be careful.

Great neighborhood! This builder uses the cheapest materials from bathroom fixtures to light bulbs. They don’t fix anything as well. I have raw material showing on my staircase. Also, a huge gap between the tub and tile. Drywall screws are coming through everywhere. They said it was normal, but I don’t think it is. They installed the cheapest sprinkler system. This builder installs showers that belong in a trailer in their homes. Again, cheap. Even the concrete is falling apart less than 2 years.

**edit: Customer service reacted. Things were scheduled to be fixed & things were actually fixed. However, we sold the house prior to them fixing everything. I moved the rating from 1 ⭐️ to ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unless you're prepared to fix things they messed up on your own, do not do it. There were no outlets for the sprinklers nor the stove. When we called, they ignored us for 3 weeks which we then fixed on our own and only reached back after the fact. Our rod got broken on move in day which we had to fix after we were ignored for three weeks. On two occasions we were told the superintendent was going to come of which he did not. Our front porch is not level so when it rains, water gathers in one spot. There are sharp nails poking through from the carpet which they refuse to fix. They are a joke. Do not buy from them unless you're prepared to fix stuff. The last communication from Michelle Hutchinson in their office was "we told you how to fix the nails so we are not going to come and fix them". Do NOT do it. They only care about the sales. These homes are of very cheap quality. Look up videos by ABC news and others on YouTube regarding these guys.

Walked through the house and the materials looked and felt very cheap. A few friends who bought houses in this neighborhood did not have good things to say about the local office or Richmond. Many locals said they realized Richmond doesn't care after you buy a home. New homes already needing repairs, burst sprinklers, broken closet doors, defective appliances, etc. What a joke. We have decided to go with a different builder. This is unprofessional and offensive to the construction industry.

Stop building new houses that aren’t even sold yet and finish our yards and finish the house problems for so many of us who spent 500-600k for the houses you built!
Paint is horrible, drywall horrible, and workmanship is very worrying for all of us in this community!!
Multiple yards are flooding and they say it’s normal but fences are sinking, can’t do landscaping or concrete!!
