Western Solar did a great job designing and installing a high quality solar energy system for our home. They were able to install 25 solar panels on top of a dormer so that the system is nearly invisible from the ground. The system has been producing all the electrical needs of our home and EV for the last year and a half.

Western Solar installed livestock safe solar panels for our 6 acre field as that was the best location on our property for energy production. We also had to work with county regulations in regards to swamp lands and salmon run conservation. They were reliable for repairs (not really any needed) and we are able to kick back many watts into the system during the summer. It did not take us long to pay off our system and it is amazing to live “off-grid” 6 months out of the year. High quality product and great customer service.

Great job! Nice to work with a friendly, competent group that Western Solar has assembled. So many questions I asked throughout the process and, each and every single one was answered even if more research was required. Having the Powerwall's combined with Solar, Enphase micro-inverters and, the Span panel to boot was an absolutely huge undertaking but , the Team did a fantastic, neat and especially clean install. Bravo!!! This is our second install by Western Solar and feel that the green energy movement lives and breathes within Western Solar.

Western Solar did our 3kw with battery backup installation 10 years ago and the system continues to operate flawlessly. I was able to change out the old lead acid batteries this year to lithium batteries from New Use Energy by myself because they did such a solid job on the battery cabling. The panel installation was tricky since we have a cedar shake roof and it went really well. I highly recommend them. First class work

We had an awesome experience with Western Solar from start to finish! All the staff we interacted with for the project were friendly, professional, helpful and patient - our roofers were slow in getting our new roof done, and Western Solar was very nice even when having to reschedule twice because of the roofer's bad business practices. They gave us loads of information all along the way, from before we made the final decision, so we knew what choices to make, to the end, and even beyond after the installation, to continue to make sure things were working well and checking in to see if we had any questions or issues. Every staff we worked with, from sales to financial to project management were all great, and they did all the work to make sure permits and inspections were done in a timely manner. We love having solar, and our App that allows us to see how much solar is produced each day, and since our home is also the office for our nonprofit Orca Network, it is doubly important for us that we are walking (or swimming!) our talk, and producing our power, which also powers our electric car, which helps the salmon and the orcas who need the salmon to survive! Thanks to Western Solar for making what felt like a daunting journey so easy for us - we highly recommend them, and highly recommend going solar!!

This was a great experience overall. Now for some details.

I contacted 3 solar companies for bids; two local to Bellingham, and the third local to the Puget Sound region. While all 3 companies were responsive, the responsiveness I experienced from Western Solar, and my designer, Theo Daley, were standouts. Theo was extremely patient about answering my questions, provided DETAILED information (that included documentation), and was flexible in designing the system. He came out to our home before finalizing the design to ensure he was getting the maximum benefit from our panels.

The installation took 3 days. There were some issues with being able to connect the solar system to our existing electrical system (due to some quirks of our home), but these were eventually resolved. Western Solar arranged for the City inspector to come out within one business day of the completion of installation.

After that, we had a 9 week delay waiting for the local power company (Puget Sound Energy) to officially bless our system. Western Solar did their very best to try to move the process along, but apparently, due to the demand in combination with the lack of workers at PSE, there was nothing to be done but wait.

Finally, the solar system started producing power in mid-September 2023. It has already produced more electricity than projected, and we look forward to an entire year of solar production in 2024.

I cannot recommend Western Solar highly enough. They are dedicated, experienced, professional and passionate about their mission.
