Before starting to build (before contacting Warfield Homes), we had heard horror stories and were told by other people that the building process is long and very stressful and those discussions always ended with people wishing us luck. If you are currently looking at reviews and reading this review, you know exactly what I mean, lol.

Here is the good part:
Warfield Homes was recommended to us from friends who had used Warfield Homes in the past. We had the honors of having Warfield Homes build our custom home and the entire process exceeded our expectations. From the first call with Shannon, I knew we had found the right team to work with and no longer needed to search for a builder. We have now been in our new home for 5 months.... would I build again? Yes, in a heartbeat with the Warfield Team, no hesitation!!!! Was it stressful? Some things, yes....like picking out my kitchen tile and wall paint colors, lol - the choices are endless, but the actual process of working with Wayne and Shannon was far from stressful.

Here is the bad part:
If I had to pick one thing that sucked throughout the entire process... it would have to be the day our house was officially completed.... As excited as we were to finally move it, we were also very sad knowing that we would no longer be seeing Shannon, Wayne and the Warfiled team everyday. While you may not think that sucks, believe me, you will understand once you hire them to build your home <3 Sooooo, let me end the painful searching for you..... STOP SEARCHING for a builder, Warfield homes is the right builder for your new home.... and don't worry, you don't have to be sad after the building process is done - you can stop by their new brewery and have a beer with Shannon and Wayne at Chilly Hollow Brewery! From my first phone conversation with Shannon I had a good feeling about Warfield. I was a first time home builder so I had tons of questions! Shannon always picked up my calls and spent tons of time talking with me even before I had decided to use them! I toured a couple of their recently completed homes and read tons of reviews. They use a great tracking software so it is easy to see how the budget is being used and allows you flexibility to make changes when you want to. They were responsive and their vendors and subcontractors were excellent. I worked with a local architect Warfield recommended and altered a plan that I had found already. Wayne and the onsite team did an excellent job of keeping the project on track and moving forward. Denny did a fantastic job of managing all of the finishing touches in the home stretch. I have been in my house about two months now and I couldn’t love it more! It is everything I had envisioned and Warfield brought it to life for me! I highly recommend meeting with them and considering them in your home building process. They did what they said they would, kept their word, were easy to deal with and built an amazing house! The most stressful part of my building process was selling my old house and figuring out the timing, Warfield handled things so well it was a smooth low stress experience!

Where do we begin? From the moment we met with Shannon and Wayne, we knew this was the builder for our custom home. Although it was a small, retirement home built to the plans we provided, they treated it like it was a mansion being built. The entire Warfield Homes crew from the framers, to the other contractors did an excellent and professional job. The online portal (Co-Construct) Warfield uses for communication is invaluable. It saves time and frustration for both parties without endless emails and phone calls. It is a must have in the building industry. Warfield Homes took care of it all, from permits to getting utilities hooked up. Before we signed a contract, EVERYTHING was spelled out with details from excavation work to final walk thru/punch list and is completely customizable to your specific needs, wants and budget. While there were a few hiccups here and there, which is expected with a new build, there were no major issues. Communication was always prompt concerning any questions we had and they helped guide us thru some things we didn’t think of on our plans. Because of the ongoing COVID back order delays with materials and goods, we were encouraged to pick out items at the beginning of the project which kept it moving on time. From the contract signing to final walk thru, our home build took about 5 months. We cannot thank Warfield Homes enough for the quality and beauty of our new home. We highly recommend them for your new construction needs. Thank you so much again Shannon, Wayne, Denny and everyone else that worked on our home. We absolutely love it!

This will likely be the first of several reviews I will leave regarding specific, unresolved issues regarding our Clarke County home. I want to be able to address in detail each and every problem as exact as we can and provide the Warfield response. So, more to come on these issues.

Our home included two flights of stairs constructed by Loudoun Stairs. Each staircase has a platform two steps from the bottom where the staircase turns. At the top of each stringer, one just below each platform and one at the top of each staircase, a total 4 stairs, the piece referred to as the stair nose is about one inch too short, leaving a gap in the stringer. The gap has been left unfilled and unfinished. In one case the raw unfinished wood is left on a stained wood stringer. It is quite unsightly. During a review with project manager, Denny, it was explained that the staircases are delivered to the site with the proper size stair nose but the stair noses are removed by the floor tile installers who install their own stair nose, which is not as wide and creates the gap. Denny and I spent some time discussing possible solutions. He advised he would discuss the matter with Shannon. Shannon's reply via co-construct was "We have fulfilled our contractual obligation and will not be scheduling any onsite visits unless there is a major failure of critical component prior to the 1 year occupancy date of 2/28/2025." This issue is one Warfield Homes has faced before and it should have been avoided. I had hoped professionalism and pride in workmanship would have taken priority over contractual obligations. It seems I was foolish to think so.

What an absolute pleasure working with Shannon, Wayne, Denny and all others with Warfield Homes! They are locals who truly care about their customers and will go out of their way to make you happy and comfortable.

From the beginning, Shannon was very personable and took as much time as we needed to go through all questions and details of our dream home. Wayne headed up the build and gave great advice and tips of things that may work better during our build and kept us up to date with everything that was happening. Denny did fantastic finishing work!

They answered their phones anytime we called and kept the project on schedule, they even finished a few weeks ahead of the contracted date! The price came in pretty much right at their initial estimate (other than the upgrades we personally chose throughout the build). All around, we are so very happy with our new home. It is absolutely beautiful!

We just finished a custom built downsized retirement home with Warfield. We are extremely pleased with how the building process went and the results! They include the customer as part of the team with every step of the way, with open and honest communication - presenting options so you can make choices that fit you and your budget. A few months ago my husband and I completed our custom home project with Warfield homes. Going into the project we heard many horror stories about building a custom home and challenges people had with their builder. Our first experience with Warfield was phenomenal. They were responsive, collaborative and did phenomenal work. Building a home is stressful at times but Shannon and Wayne go out of their way to talk through options as you are deliberating choices. At no point did we feel rushed to make a decision or feel like we were not being given all of the necessary info on critical decisions. They also did just an amazing job sourcing difficult to obtain materials in a truly crazy supply chain environment. At one point Shannon was calling suppliers all over the country to help me find the perfect insert for our fireplace. I was really blown away by their dedication to get it right. We can't recommend them enough.
