Working with Karlin is a joy! Her ability to look at a space and see the potential just amazes me. She has designed several rooms in my 1979 home. 10 stars! We absolutely loved working with Karlin for our addition and complete home remodel. In her magical way she made an incredibly daunting task manageable. We met with her, explained our current space and end goals, and she nailed it. My husband and I have very different design opinions and she made us both so happy. Once she created our design, I knew I didn't need her to completely manage our project, but she stepped in whenever I needed help solving hiccups along the way. Our end result was exactly what we wanted for our family and we love it so much. Her designs are stunning and she was such a joy to work with! Highly recommend!

Karlin is awesome. I loved her design work for our spaces from the start (primary bath and laundry/mud room/pantry), but was extremely impressed with her professionalism. We sure are happy with the work Karlin Vance of Vance Design did for us and couldn’t give her a more glowing recommendation. Our project was a full rebuild in La Jolla and she came onto the project just before plans were submitted to the city. Karlin is an experienced interior designer who is (i) comfortable and skilled at working with a construction crew, (ii) able to make decisions and recommendations that improve the design and feel of the home, (iii) comfortable collaborating with an architect, and (iv) has a natural, light, bright and beachy aesthetic (she isn’t a “maximalist” designer). She knew where to splurge and where to save. She is very responsive and timely - we didn’t ever find ourselves chasing her or waiting on her input. She is not precious about her design suggestions and did a great job of incorporating ideas and pieces we had into the overall home design. She even has her own list of vendors that brilliantly complimented our project. Plus, she is such a wonderful person! Her pricing is fair and her skill at the color “white” is second to none. We would recommend her every time. If you’re looking for a light, bright modern and comfortable vibe, you really can’t go wrong with Karlin.
