Truly fascinating experience. I was there during the inauguration of the first “World Meditation Day” launched by the UN in 2024. The event featured an inspiring keynote and guided meditation by Gurudev, plus messages from an interesting range of diplomats from various countries. The tone of the event was memorable, marked by both a stillness and the magnitude of a global day of meditation. All in all, one of the most memorable events of my year. Note that the security to get in is incredibly high and takes time. Apart from that, the building itself is filled with beautiful world art and thoughtful exhibits that reflect the history and goals of the United Nations.

The United Nations Headquarters in New York is an incredible experience for anyone interested in international diplomacy and global affairs. A guided tour is highly recommended—it’s very informative, providing a detailed overview of the history, mission, and current work of the UN. It’s fascinating to walk through the iconic General Assembly Hall and Security Council Chamber, where world-changing discussions take place. During my visit, it was also interesting to see live sessions in progress, giving a real sense of the impact the UN has on global issues. The tour offers insights into the complexities of international relations and the role the UN plays in promoting peace, human rights, and sustainable development. The building itself is impressive, with its modern architecture and stunning views of the East River.

The United Nations Headquarters is open for public tours Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:45 PM. It’s closed on weekends and public holidays. Tickets for the guided tours are priced at $22 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $13 for children (ages 5-18). You can also purchase tickets in advance on the UN’s official website to secure your spot. Overall, it’s a must-visit for anyone in New York, and the guided tour makes it a truly enriching experience.

Book on-line, fill everything out, and have a valid ID (that means not expired). The security entry starts across the street. They are nice and efficient. Do the tour. Once you go to the actual UN bldg and go through security, the workers are all on their phones. They will say to sit and you will hear your tour called. That is not true. Go stand by the Tour Desk. Once in the tour, you will like it.

Great building. Detailed explanations in the museum and meeting rooms and stages where important meetings from representatives and people around the world take place. Airport grade security checks on the entrance for ensured security and safety of visitors and everyone. The gates outside the building has nearly every country (or every country)'s flags placed in alphabetical order. Many offices inside the building from many different countries. Overall, it's a great location to visit.

It was a good experience to visit the United Nations; in order to do that, it's necessary to register yourself, using an ID document. The registration occurs in another place, which is in Front of the building. I used my Brazilian ID and it was all good.

I booked the guided tour and the tour guide was great and knowledgeable about everything UN-related. The highlight was the general assembly hall where leaders from all countries discuss world peace!
