This property management company is a joke. When we moved in the place was gross. Hadn’t been painted or even touched up. Walls were full of holes, nails and screws. The back deck was rotted and unsafe to use. The front porch is falling on one-side. Sliding door needed replacing, washing machine would leak water into the tub when not in use, dryer didn’t dry. Jacuzzi tub has open jets. Fridge has rust lines running down it. The stove has eyes and pans that don’t fit it so you can inly use two of the four. The air return was caked in grossness. The carpet stairs have black along the edges where it wasn’t cleaned properly.

After all this they actually wanted use to renew our lease 9 months early for addition $$$$. As if that would ever happen.

The HOA part of this company is so awful to work with. They don’t respond/acknowledge your requests and take forever to fix things. No respect for people or their time. Jessica is nice to work with, so giving her a star. My houses in Radford are horribly managed.

Shut our water supply off for a day without warning. The customer service is extremely unhelpful. Also, we experienced a broken water heater a week ago. It is yet to be replaced. They care more about towing in an empty parking lot than ensuring their apartments are habitable.

It is very bad management and maintenance. I got an issue with the electricity as a partial losing power ( there is no power for some outlets like a Fridge, microwave and light for the kitchen).

I called them, send a message and file a claim on Friday afternoon but there is no one came to fix the issue. Someone came on Monday but I wasn't on the house because no one notify me and he took a picture for my fridge and left without noticing that I was connected my fridge with another outlet on the living room by extension.

I called them again on Tuesday morning. She told me someone will come between 2 to 5pm. I was waiting on my apartment There's no one show up and stilli don'thavea power. Very bad company. It is better for them to run farm management not properties management.

John at Townside is a fantastic guy (as well as some other decent individuals), but I wouldn't recommend the company as a whole. They do not care about current tenants (even long-term ones); they only care about filling vacancies as quick as possible and how they can make a profit. They're more about "business-as-usual" and MUCH less about customer service and community.

Further, the owner of the house I'm vacating fixes necessary things, but it's clear he's in it for the money and NOTHING else. He came to oversee roof repairs and wouldn't make eye contact or even engage with us as tenants. He's not obligated to, but after having come from a place in which the landlord made sure things were up to date and communicated well with us (all without raising the rent), it's a shame this owner/landlord operates the way he does.

Do not believe the positive reviews. Seriously.

I spent 4 months when I first moved to Blacksburg in 806 S main st, unit 1, which is controlled by Townside. The apartment had no visible mold, but the basement (which quite literally connects to the apartment through multiple holes in the ground) was chronically flooded and full of mold. They didn't do anything about it despite many attempts and contacts, and if they did, they did not say a thing nor was there visible evidence. By month 4 of living there, my whole body was broken out in a rash (I have never had skin problems). I moved out and within a week all my symptoms cleared up.

Do not rent from these people if you can avoid it. They are seriously awful. Nothing gets fixed, no calls get returned, and they will not return your money to you.

Townside property management has really gone downhill in the last year or so. I heard that the owner is retiring and is having his son take over, which is probably why the big change in service (FYI, keeping it in the family isn't always the best option).

I worked with them when I first moved to the NRV area. My agent then was fine. When I was looking to move again, I, unfortunately, had to work with a new guy named Sean. Total douche bag, super fake, does not give a single care about residents or their experience. I expect he got in through nepotism too, probably someone's godson or something, otherwise, I don't know how someone so awful would be allowed to stay on or be hired in the first place.

It's gone to the dogs. I recommend looking elsewhere for a leasing company.

This is coming from the perspective of a working adult, not a college student, in case that makes a difference.

The rain caused a leak in my townhouse this morning and Joseph was the emergency maintenance tech, he was so kind and promptly brought me a bucket until he could get on the roof and asses the issue! Great experience with maintenance!
