Adrian answered so many questions and provided really great recommendations for me to consider. Very professional guy. Mr. Yancey drove out to inspect my roof, flew his drone over the house and used a high def camera to inspect the quality and placement of the shingles. He gave me fantastic advice, and given his depth of knowledge, I felt great confidence in his judgment.
We had Yancey rebuild our roof 20 years prior, with ridge vents. They did such a fantastic job back then, and that work has stood the test of time. I just had to give them some repeat business.
Anyway, I walked into the office at 2pm, and Mr. Yancey drove over at 3pm to inspect, on the SAME DAY. He ended up telling me my roof was already in good shape, and said not to worry.
How can any business do any better than this? It's the gold standard of customer relations. Many thanks to the Yancey Roofing Company!!

The most dishonest, unscrupulous, unethical contractor we have ever hired. The Tom Yancey Company (TYC) literally DESTROYED OUR HOUSE between tear-off of our old roof and install of the new one. Subcontractors they hired, which in their contracts they make a selling-point of never doing - “Note #4: Our own crews on our payroll will perform all work; no subcontracting or day laborers will be allowed”, inexplicably showed up an entire week ahead of the scheduled tear-off date and completely removed our roof. At that point TYC, caught off guard with no materials and not prepared to put the new roof on, decided it wouldn’t be a problem to leave our house with no roof (not even a tarp) until the scheduled install date 7 days later. 5 days into those 7 it poured rain. Extensive water damage throughout our entire house resulted in all of our possessions in storage and our family living in a hotel for 3 months until our house was repaired/returned to a livable condition. TYC denied any and all responsibility for the nearly $250K in damages but after a prolonged legal back & forth the arbitrator ultimately stated in her ruling that The Tom Yancey Company was in fact “negligent and failed to mitigate”.

In TYC’s reply to this review they claim our statements are “misleading and not factual”, and “for the real story call us at…”. Note that in their reply they do not deny that TYC destroyed our home due to negligence and failure to mitigate. They didn’t, and can’t, because the ‘facts’ are that the company did exactly that, exactly as described above, and exactly as they’re very clearly written in 1) the arbitrator’s ruling, 2) the owner’s and his own employees’ sworn depositions, as well as 3) the owner’s own personal text messages to us. We would be more than happy to share copies of these documents and messages with anyone who asks. There is where you’ll get ‘the real story’. Anything TYC says to the contrary is an outright lie.

Yancey and company re-roofed our home. The outcome was outstanding and very professional. The crew was a good group of men and their work showed through. A big piece for me was how they cleaned up after themselves each day. The roof looks very nice and I would recommend them to any home owner.

Our old roof had a few leaks and I felt they made us a priority in there schedule during this stormy January/February. The crew was efficient, on time and there when they said they would be. The Tom Yancey Company was exceptional in all facets on everything we needed for our reroof.
New shingles, new venting, installation of new skylight, much improved hog valley and all dry rot repair as needed. Tear off was completed at lightning speed and Scott was our guy for all the rest until completion. He did all the work and was responsive to all of our questions.
The old man (Tom) was responsible for the beginning drone pictures and quote as well as the finish pictures and recap.
The office manager Marlo handled all of the paper work professionally.
The price was comparable to all other bids.
Overall a great experience and very professional! We made a great choice of companies.

Outstanding company! They finished my roof on time, and it looks beautiful! Crew leader Paul answered all my questions with respect and courtesy, and addressed any concerns I had. The crew worked hard, and were always polite. Would definitely recommend!

We got a few estimates prior to deciding to go with Tom Yancey, and although their price was not the absolute lowest, it was reasonable, especially considering what they included in the bid. He was very upfront about the potential for additional costs if problems arose (a few did arise but were dealt with very quickly and professionally). He also made it clear that the work is done by his employees, not subcontractors.

Speaking of employees, we also had good experiences with Marlo in the office who kept us apprised of timelines and any issues. Once work commenced, Jonathan and Sean took charge of the hands-on work and they really busted their humps. Considering the temperatures at the time we were even more impressed with how they attacked the project. They are obviously very skilled and thorough which showed in the final result. The roof and the gutters look phenomenal and the house has attained a whole new level of curb appeal.

We are super happy with the result, and it was as painless as it could have been. We absolutely recommend them if you need roofing work done!
