I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the recent actions and misrepresentation by Jamey Brannigan, a sales representative at Sumac Ridge in Menifee, CA. The purpose of this complaint is to bring to your attention the unprofessional conduct and the severe impact it has had on my client's housing situation.
Jamey made a commitment to my clients, Erika and Donavan Costin, guaranteeing the availability of lot 12 if we were able to secure their current home in escrow by the end of the month. We were given the understanding that the lot would be released for sale on July 1st, with a move-in date scheduled for mid-August. Relying on this information, my client proceeded to sell her home and successfully closed escrow within the given timeframe.
However, to our astonishment, Jamey Brannigan informed us that the builder was no longer releasing lot 12 for sale. This sudden change in circumstances left my clients without a home, despite all the efforts and arrangements made based on Jamey's guarantee. Upon further investigation, it came to our attention that lot 12 was being sold to someone through “The friends of Meritage program”, a possibility that was never disclosed or explained to my clients.
The actions of Jamey Brannigan are deeply concerning and highly unprofessional. It is evident that Jamey misled my clients and misrepresented the situation, providing false assurance and causing significant distress to my clients and their family. As a professional sales representative, it is crucial to uphold transparency and honesty in dealings with clients, ensuring they are well-informed of all possibilities and potential challenges that may arise.
My clients, having sold their home based on Jamey's guarantee, now find themselves in an extremely difficult position, essentially being left homeless due to the failure of Jamey to fulfill the promises made. This not only reflects poorly on Meritage Homes as a reputable company, but also creates significant emotional and financial hardships for my clients.
I trust that Meritage Homes takes this complaint seriously and will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. It is imperative that the company addresses these issues promptly and takes appropriate steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
