A few years, I saw one of Mike Cobb's architectural projects and was incredibly impressed with his work. Recently, I went to Studio Ecesis seeking help for a tricky lighting project -- trying to highlight a new mural in a converted yoga studio, while providing a nice, even ambient glow. Mike was able to offer me solutions that I hadn't previously considered, and help me quickly and effectively. Even though mine was clearly one of his smaller projects, he put a generous amount of creativity, time and care into it, which I very much appreciate. Very good experience - I would highly recommend!

Our experience with Mike and Studio Ecesis was frustrating and costly. His design was attractive, but bids came in at 50% and more over his budget instructions. By that time Mike's fees had also exceeded his proposal by over $10,000. He insisted on a minimum of $12,000 more to make the necessary revisions to his design, and when we did not accept his proposal he billed charges against our retainer for work on the revision anyway, including fees to discuss his proposed fees. We hired someone else to do the revisions, and wish we had hired someone else from the beginning.

I contacted Michael to design an addition for my cabin. It was a fairly large project consisting of a 1000sf garage and above that a great room with kitchen, full bath, and integral staircase from the garage to great room and then up to loft. I found Michael to be very detail orientated. He also came up with design concepts that I would have never imagined. I would definitely use him again. He is a true professional.

"After reading the negative review posted below, we decided to ask Michael Cobb about it before using his services. Michael explained that he had revised the design several times as per Timothy Locke’s request. The bid was within 10% of the final design and cost estimate that Director, Timothy Locke had reviewed and approved but Timothy Locke had not communicated the project changes and expansions to the board. The board was understandably frustrated by a cost that was substantially higher than the original numbers Timothy had discussed with the board. When Timothy was criticized by the board for this miscommunication, he proceeded blame Mike and write a series of bad reviews online to redirect the blame."
