I recently hired Stone Garden to revamp the walkway at my newly purchased home, and I’m thrilled with the results. The original walkway was in poor condition—cracked, uneven bricks with grass growing through, making it unsafe and unattractive. Stone Garden transformed it into a stunning, durable feature that boosts my home’s curb appeal.
Jose from Stone Garden was fantastic, offering expert advice and creative ideas to fix the walkway. The team’s professionalism and attention to detail were impressive. They replaced the old bricks with a sleek herringbone-patterned paver walkway, ensuring a level, long-lasting finish. The project was completed on time, with a clean worksite left behind.
For top-notch walkway repair, landscaping, or hardscaping services, I highly recommend Stone Garden. Their craftsmanship and customer service are exceptional, making them the go-to company for home improvement projects in the area!

Stone Garden did work on both our DC homes. Both projects were significant ($10k + each). They were competitively priced and, more importantly, did great quality work. The projects took a bit longer than planned but for good reason - they are meticulous at what they do… never saw them rushing. I’d rather have that! Sam is great to work with as well.

I'm sad that I have to write this review. The bluestone patio they installed looked fine for about one year, but then the stones started to chip badly and now they look terrible. Sam came out to inspect and said that Jose would get back to me. However, he never followed up even after several calls. I called Irwin Stone, where they supposedly bought the materials, and they said that they wouldn't do anything. So, our new $7,000 patio is a complete fail and no one is taking responsibility. Save yourself a headache and use someone else!

Stone garden built a porch for us. They did a really nice and good job, but before one year had passed, the bottom moulding of all the support columns became unsealed.
They came and repaired it by applying using a bunch of new caulking. As expected this was only a temporary fix and the problem reappeared within a few months.
We called them to fix it. Someone came and checked it and said they would send a crew by to take care of the problem. Since then, they haven't answered our calls, responded to email, and they haven't sent anyone to fix the issue.
Their customer service is very bad and they haven't stood by their work!

I was very impressed with Stone Garden’s work and will hire them again. Got 3 estimates (all similar prices) but Sam was the first person to listen instead of doing a hard sell. His team was excellent & efficient, proud of their work. On the final day I couldn’t believe what a good clean up job they did. They hosed the dust off of my bushes, trees & grass (!) picked up small rock’s by hand out of my lawn. Love the end result.

We had a wonderful experience with Stone Garden as they replaced our concrete patio with Pennsylvania Blue Stone. The transformation exceeded our expectations, resulting in a stunning, low-maintenance outdoor space. Stone Garden's professionalism and craftsmanship were excellent.

I hired Stone Garden to perform several tasks based on the recommendation of someone I know. I sincerely regret hiring them and do not recommend them.

Each task they were hired to perform had issues. For example, I asked them to trim back bushes. They trimmed them back so much that my neighbor called me, concerned that now we had zero foliage providing privacy between our yards. Despite my instructions, Stone Garden trimmed back essentially to the stump and I was left with twigs in the ground and had to wait for months before they started regrowing.

I also asked them to build stairs off of my deck and to replace a gate door. The stairs they constructed were not level and the gate door was not flush so it did not latch properly. I had to contact them to repair these issues but the stairs are still not much better.

The last straw was that I hired them to acquire a permit for additional work. The permit drawings they prepared were not at all what we discussed. Rather, they showed extensive changes that I did not request. Upon expressing my concern about the inaccuracies with the drawings, I was told they were trying to show me "what was possible." I didn't ask for that so it wasted weeks of my time as I waited for new drawings. The new drawings were also problematic and proposed removing and relocating a full-grown tree -- again, not something I requested so we had to again discuss revising the drawings. The third version of the drawings were still not what I envisioned but I was told as long as it was close enough, we could submit the permit application. They submitted the permit application in September.

As expected, the city had questions and comments. Stone Garden did not reply to these comments. They also did not reply to my emails or phone calls. Months passed. Finally, I heard from the owner in February. I was given a lot of excuses and apologies -- but no actual progress on my permit application or description of next steps or milestones. More time elapsed with no action or updates from Stone Garden.

I finally reached out to the city myself and learned that my permit application had been terminated due to lack of activity. Stone Garden never informed me of this status. The city also provided me the comments that has been sent to Stone Garden which made it very apparent that Stone Garden is not equipped to manuever the permitting process. I've since spoken to several other contractors and they noted it was very apparent that Stone Garden does not understand the city permitting requirements based on the application they submitted and the questions they received from the city.

I have since contacted the owner and requested a partial refund, along with all correspondence with the city and documentation submitted for my permit application since this is my intellectual property. I received no response at all and no partial refund.

If you want quality work and good communication, look elsewhere. I do NOT recommend.

Stone Garden it’s a wonderful business - run by caring competent excellent people. They built walkways retaining walls fences hard scape soft scape plantings of beautiful flowers and trees. They help with maintenance and they even do snow removal in the winter! Sam Gonzalez the founder of the company runs a family run business with a crew that he treats like family and his work is second to none. Their price is a reasonable the work is excellent. Most of all we get no flooding and he directed all the water so that it could be absorbed into the ground and not damage the Chesapeake Bay.
