Don’t recommend living here. The place is nice but the staff are incredibly rude and inconsiderate. I moved in to a supposedly “brand new apartment” but within the first month of living there my bath tub drain was cracked, the HVAC system was broken causing flooding in my apartment that ruined a lot of new furniture, the screen door/balcony door was broken causing insects to come into my apartment, the window was glued shut so I was unable to have fresh air. When asked for compensation on many issues that shouldn’t be attributed to a “newly renovated” apartment, they told me my living conditions were acceptable despite the flooding and bug issues. Nonetheless the staff are one of the biggest problems and I truly hope they reconsider their attitudes before having a job in hospitality. 0/10 do not recommend Scio at the Medical District.

Staff act like they own the building 😂 they need to take some hospitality classes 😄😅

They did not come to do the inspection while we lived there. They failed to do their job and then sent us a huge bill saying they found some damage.

I lived here for 6 years. Safe, clean, quiet place to live, convenient location close to the medical district. Building management very quick to fix all requests within 24h. People in the office and the concierge service are all very nice.
Close to grocery stores, restaurants, bus stops, CTA pink line within minutes. Close to the west loop.
The only thing to complain was that my rent kept increasing every year, but I think this aligns with the city of Chicago.
100% recommended if you are planning to work in the area and don't want to commute.

Don't move here unless you want to freeze in winter, as heating does not work, temperatures dip below 70, and they will not do anything about this. Can be dangerous if you have any health related issues such as asthma etc.

It’s a perfect apartment to me, a new student in UIC, and I think to all the residents living in the medical district in Chicago as well. I moved here from another place a month ago and SCIO is better because of the excellent facilities, service, people and the community, especially I feel the people here very friendly. SCIO has 24H service in the first floor, including the bright lobby, fitness center, coffee bar, private study room, and the resort-style swimming pool in summer. I am looking forward to experience the swimming pool next summer. In fact, I really like dogs but I have no possible to have one now, so sometimes I very enjoy to watch the cute dogs living here, it’s a sweet life for me here.

This is a really safe(!), beautiful place to live in Little Italy, especially if you're a student or employee at UIC, Rush, or any of the other facilities here at Chicago's medical district. I feel very comfortable living in a building with so many security features. Additionally, as a student, they have multiple locations in the building to host study groups or study individually (see picture!). Also, as a student, I highly value a quiet atmosphere, and the apartments are truly soundproof between shared walls. And lastly, it's a very clean and modern building with kind, respectful employees!

Would not recommend living here. This building has a cockroach infestation, the AC and heating system does not properly function, and the management increased rent by $300 per month as a penalty for not signing a full 1 year lease contract after already living there for 2 years. They also do not allow you to have a temporary car if your actual car is under maintenance. They will charge you for using a different car in the meanwhile.
