Rick and his team did a complete overhaul of the hardscaping in our front yard in March of 2022 and we have been so pleased! Even though they are incredibly busy, they were very responsive, showed up when they said they would, and got the project done quickly. Rick and his team are awesome professionals! We had extensive work done to level our back yard to make it more usable, including putting in a retaining wall, grading it to a smooth slope, putting in sprinklers and topping with sod. Our initial discussions were very productive, and Rick had plenty of good suggestions to get to the goals we wanted, given the terrain involved. There's a reason they have a long list of work orders at any given time! While we waited, they were proactive in communicating how weather and other factors might affect our projected start date. It was all worth the wait! The first of the four pictures is from last spring (2021), as we began discussing the project. The other three are "after."

We bought a house this past summer on a very steep lakeside lot. The previous owner had removed all the shrubs, trees, and other vegetation and had routed gutter downspouts poorly, and the lot had eroded dramatically, leaving deep crevices and exposing sewer pipes and part of the septic system. We employed some DIY fixes (erosion control blankets and seeding annual rye), but knew that we would need some retaining walls and an extensive drainage system to prevent further erosion. We tried to hire a landscaping company immediately but could not find anyone willing to tackle the difficult slope. One contractor told us immediately that the job was too difficult, since he could not use his heavy equipment on the slope (fair enough), but others left us hanging after one or more site visits, waiting for estimates that never came through. In early November, we reached out to Rick Bonds. He assessed the site and gave us an estimate within a couple of days, advising us that he was booked through the end of February. As our time frame approached, Rick kept in touch on scheduling, and he and his crew started work, as promised, the first week of March. Rick & his guys worked on the project full-time for two full weeks, doing all the digging and hauling on the slope by hand. The crew was exceptionally professional, working hard all day & leaving the site cleaned up each day. Rick is great at communicating – he discussed options & answered our questions throughout the process. About a week after the job was completed, we suffered a torrential downpour (several inches in 36 hours) that caused washing of the newly-placed topsoil and gravel around the walls. Rick came back quickly to repair the storm damage & added a dry creek bed to further slow the water rushing down the slope, at no charge to us. Rick’s apparent goal was to solve our difficult stormwater/landscaping problems in an aesthetically pleasing manner, without shortcuts & to our complete satisfaction, and he did so with flying colors. We feel fortunate to have engaged Scapes Management for this project and recommend them highly. We definitely will choose Scapes Management for any future landscaping work!

Although this company only has 34 reviews at the time I'm writing this, this comany is BUSY. They were booking out months when they came to our house. For them to have five star reviews and doing that much work tells you that there are a lot of satisfied customers because usually people only take time to review when they have negative experiences. Now, to tell you about our experience. They did both our French drain for our backyard which had major drainage problems (taking days to dry out) and our hardscaping for our patio over a year ago. Both were done BEFORE the proposed time. Rick answered our calls, showed up when he said they were going to, was very professional and gave us realistic expectations regarding what the French drain would do for our yard, and which route we should go saving us money! The French drain has been a game changer for our backyard and has met all of our expectations. Our patio was done to our exact specifications and looks beautiful.
