We moved into Vermella Broad St in March and since then it has been problems after problems and getting the run around.

We got lied to during our tour about many things that Vermella Broad doesn’t honor.

The latest of their chain of horrors: Visitor parking finally made available to their tenants after 5 months of the run around even though the lease states it would be available. If the guest parks for over 3 hours, it’s $3 fee. Oh also, you can only have your guest park there 7PM to 7AM. It has been such a disappointment in this property. I tried to be patience and nice about all the issues, however I am still getting the run around.

I want someone from Russo Main office to give me a call. You guys are breaching the contractual agreement with your tenants.

We’re relocating to another state, having leased at Annin Lofts in Verona NJ for 6 yrs. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Annin. The entire staff was consistently responsive & a pleasure to deal with. In particular, I’d like to single out the head of maintenance, Cesar Juarez, for special mention. Cesar always went above & beyond to make sure our needs were met. He was available 24/7 to resolve whatever issue that arose. We’ll miss working with Cesar - he’s like a good will ambassador for the organization & definitely a valuable asset.

This Russo Development, LLC, had Piazza & Associates administer their low income affordable housing applications back in 2020,2021 for Vermella Woodbridge, 6000 Vermella Way, Woodbridge, NJ. 07095.

Then, on October 11, 2021 at 11:00am, a lottery drawing took place exclusively for ALL those that applied on or before September 31, 2021.

Fast-Forwarding, FOUR 4️⃣ years later, Russo Development becomes ambitious enough, and built offsite of the above mentioned property one, a Phase 2, located at 100 Antares Drive, Woodbridge, NJ 07095, and guess what the Regional Manager, for both properties did when their “so-called” Phase II (that was NEVER even advertised nor published by their hiring agents nor Regional Manager years back of the future existing⁉️) …

They [RUSSO DEVELOPMENT & PIAZZA & ASSOCIATES] took every single old applications submitted in the PREVIOUS years of 2021and ROLLED-OVER all those low income affordable housing applications, and gave them TOP PRIORITY to move into Phase 2, located at 100 Antares Drive, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.

English Translation:
The newly built affordable housing wasn’t open to the public for newly submission of applications on those on low income, but gave them to old applicants that had already their fair shot of applying for 6000 Vermella Way, and with zero regards of how awful the “Supply & Demands” are for affordable housing in this state of New Jersey, just catered to them on a silver plater.

That is not “fair housing” nor “fair sharing.” That instead is private companies doing the hell they want to than say “the municipality gave us permission?” Perhaps, permission to build, but not to exclude new comers from applying.

Y’all on low income, affordable housing should not sit back and tolerate these business practices. Imagine, they will do the same if a Phase 3 came along by rolling-over old & dusty applications, instead of giving those also in need to have their own lottery drawings for properties in different locations and stop being slick by combining them 4 years later.

EDIT: Wasn't going to post it but since they responded. The day before I talked to the person who responded (and the day after i told another team member about another team member lying and being scared of retaliation) my key fob was deactivated (they say accidental. I think it's interesting timing). This call that the person talks about solved nothing. There was no resolution and they still haven't come up with a harassment policy (nor sent it to me). Since, other female amenity users and tenants have told me horror stories that the management did nothing about. The person who called me seemed to be great at speaking but i cannot say there's been any solution OR that their response to harassment has been better since i haven't been to the gym since.

If I could give zero stars I would. I had a creepy situation at the gym of one of their buildings. Not only did the staff lie about escalating it when they didn’t. They completely avoided sending me their harassment policy (because it doesn’t exist). After i escalated myself I was left with no solutions either. Do not live in one of their buildings. They will not protect you.

Do not rent with this management company. I put down $500 to hold an apartment. I decided I could not move forward due to the hidden fees they attached to rent. I let them know I would not be taking the apartment. Then I was told my deposit (payed via debit card) would be mailed to me. I asked for it to be returned via card they declined and informed me I could pick up the check at their office. Two weeks passed by and this company informed me they have 30 days to return the deposit. It has been 38 days and I now have to take this company to small claims court to recoup my money. Absolutely horrifying experience avoid them at all costs if you can!
