I am a Realtor here in Northern Utah. I have clients that just purchased an RM Mills home in Perry. They had to sell their current home in order to purchase their new home and Zach and Max didn’t have any problems working with our contingent offer!

In addition, working with them was seemless, smooth and truly stress free. They were very responsive whenever we had questions or concerns during the process also.

My clients have now moved into their new home and are very happy with the home, the builders and the neighborhood in general. I would absolutely work with RM Mills again on a transaction.

I am a Realtor that has assisted two Buyers with homes in RM Mills. Our experience started off rough but with Zach Smith and Dustin Kearl as new management it has been a COMPLETELY different experience!
The communication is excellent and accurate. You hear from them weekly with updates/ projections for the following week/ any issues that need to be resolved. They have personally called to handle specific items directly. They have taken my once very stressed out Buyers to completely happy and confident customers. They have massive knowledge in the field and it shows! They are the reason I will bring new Clients to their projects.
I hope they know how much we appreciate their efforts!

This is a terrible company to do business with. They promise all these great things and act friendly upfront but once the building starts they turn their back on you and won’t reply or give you any information even if you ask multiple times. They change your superintendent/project manager without mentioning it which makes it more difficult to get information to and from them. Their plans they start building with don’t even meet code then they try to push the changes on the buyer even though they’re the ones who did it wrong.

We’ve been in our house for 3 weeks and are still waiting for mills to install the gas stub line for our stove, our windows still don’t have screens and the garage door has 2 panels that are brown and they should be black.

The owners Max, Dustin and Zach are very rude and try to bully you into paying whatever ridiculous price addition they try to throw on right before you close. They treat you like you have no idea what the process of building a home is. Which in my case I do and called them out and stood for what I knew was right. When you start asking for information on why there are charges for tens of thousands more than you have discussed, They will start being extremely rude and accusatory to make you feel like you are responsible for their issues and mess ups. All while still not providing any information you have asked for multiple times. After they’re done throwing verbal jabs, they will come in and act like they’re on your side and will try to sweet talk you and say they believe what your saying and that things will get done.

I was very excited to build with Mills in the beginning and was quickly disappointed with how they handle everything. I am also a “paying client” of Mills and fully understand the other 1 star reviews. The response to the other 1 star reviews is the exact tone they will use to try and scare you into not standing up to them.

OK - So I was not sure about this company when we first met with them. However they are the real deal. I have read through some of the negative reviews, and I know those are not serious. I have worked with Max Mills for a few months now. They were really nice to work with. There are few types of people like Max in this world. I am glad I know him and his staff. Max worked with my picky wife and we had to pay more at the end but my equity more than covered that. Freaking covid! anyway - they are really awesome, and I am glad I built a Mills home.

In terms of professionalism, customer support, build quality, systems, sticking to a schedule, and just building a beautiful home you can be proud of, that isn't going to break the bank, I highly recommend RM Mills Construction. In fact, I liked this company so much, I decided to help them out so they can be even more successful. And I have worked with a lot of construction companies in my lifetime. So my decision to work with RM Mills, is meaningful, to say the least. And definitely feel free to come and check out the new design studio on main Street in Tremonton and interact with the entire amazing team!

Using Mills Construction has been an absolute nightmare! If the housing market wasn’t as crazy as it is in Utah a company like this would be out of business. They don’t care about any deadlines that they set. Both Project Managers are unresponsive to email and calls. They make a mistake and are so difficult to correct it. If I know what I do now I would’ve went with a different builder. Nobody in the overlook subdivision has anything positive to say about them. Horribly ran company and poor service is their trademark at Mills.

If you're looking to build a new home in the Box Elder County area, there is simply no better builder than Max Mills and his team at R.M. Mills Construction. They were professional, transparent, fair, and very easy to work with. They also built our home in just under 8 months! That is very rare in this hot economy and considering all of the other really bad experiences you read about when it comes to hiring a reliable contractor to build your home. they also have a great team of people behind them and going through their new design studio made things a breeze when it came to making selections for the home. Rather than having to look through pictures, black and white blueprints and plans, and so forth, we were able to see every aspect of our home, in 3D, in person, as we walked through the design studio and learned about all the different choices we could have for our home. Overall, we had a great experience and I would highly recommend this company and would be happy to use them again. And that's also a really rare thing to hear about when it comes to working with a builder! So I'm very happy to say we had a wonderful experience.

I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Over the last couple of months, we have looked into different builders in the garland and Tremonton area. Our experience with rm Mills was by far the worst. Their timeline is way too long. They tell you a year is normal right now but after talking to other builders, the size of house we want would only take 6-8 months. Not 12-16. I could never get ahold of the actual builder. Their realtor is a joke. We have two builders we love both mass production builders, and our experience with them has been so different than with this company. Not only did we have a bad experience with Rm but we have talked to people that live in houses he built (which I suggest you do) very seldom does one of his own clients have good things to say. Don’t let the 4 stars deceive you. Scroll down and look at the one star reviews. The 5 star reviews were probably left by family and friends as far as I’m concerned.
