While bidding on a house in Eureka with a deck overcome by gulch rot, my agent recommended Revival Home Builders (RHB) to estimate the replacement costs. I saw photos of the Arcata Hardscaping example on their website and realized that the use of hog panels would transform my backyard into a celebration of gulch greenery. Working with Shawn, Jay and Charlie, they understood the goal was to visually open up the surrounding forest by replacing not only the deck fencing with black hog panels but also the old cedar perimeter fencing with galvanized hog wire. We also added several observation decks and a 40 foot stairway to make a previously inaccessible gulch slope into a new dimension to enjoy the professionally landscaped yard. I am ecstatic with the results. I now get to watch the sun and fog play through the trees in the yard and gulch beyond every day. On sunny days the entire stairway is lit up in the afternoon.

The quality of their workmanship is superb, using lasers to align deck and perimeter fencing heights as well as keeping all the stair corners in a tight line. And their dedication shined as they poured concrete piers in gulch mud during the winter rain while the mosquitoes harassed them. They were also very careful to make sure that the only muddy footprints on the new construction were made by me and the racoons. I highly recommend Revival Home Builders and plan to use them for another project.

Great crew and excellent customer service. I initially contracted with Comfortable Efficiency when I didn’t receive a callback from other general contractors who do insulation and windows installation work. I was so happy with the crew and quality of work I had them install a 5.7 kW solar system, a ducted heat pump furnace, and all remaining doors and windows replaced. My energy bill went from $200-$300 a month to always zero and no more than $10!
