We had considered selling our home at some point for many years but had no immediate plans to list it. During a casual discussion with a neighbor several months ago about our plans, he expressed interest in having his son buy our home. His son would be married, and they wanted to be close to the family. Plus, we had a great view.
Although we considered a Sale by the Owner to our neighbor, we had been out of the CA real estate market for many years, so many things had changed.
My husband and I have lived in this house for over 27 years. If we were going to sell it, we realized we needed someone professional, experienced, and competent to ensure we had all the i's dotted and t's crossed. John not only ran comps to determine a fair price, but he also spoke with several agents and clients who might be interested in buying the house to get a feel for the market. He negotiated a deal with our neighbor and had both sides sign off on his representing the buyer and the seller. Then, he was instrumental in drafting a fair and equitable agreement that satisfied both sides. He was meticulous about the wording of the contracts and considered so many details we might have taken for granted if he hadn't gone over them with us himself. He has been available to answer any concerns or questions throughout the process. He has exceeded our expectations. If you have an opportunity to work with him, take it and consider yourself lucky.
