The best thing about Psion Homes is the flexibility they provide in customizing your home. They have so many floor plans to choose from. You can work directly with most of the subcontractors (e.g. flooring, cabinets, counters, and lighting) with access to their entire inventories, not just a select few options like some of the bigger developers. We were even able to have them remove some walls to bring in more open space, move the fireplace to a different wall, and add an extra window. Our designer/coordinator, Lindsy, was very responsive and usually responded to my messages within an hour. Also, in this market, there was often a shortage of supplies or labor, yet Psion staff went above and beyond and found creative solutions to keep the build moving forward. They even let us move in a few days before the home was funded and the deed was record, just in time to celebrate my wife’s birthday in our new home with some friends. We absolutely love the way it all turned out.

My only criticism is they sometimes failed to update us during times of little or no progress, leaving us wondering why nothing was happening. We sometimes had to push to get answers. Frequent (like bi-weekly) and transparent updates would be nice. That said, I think Psion’s other qualities exceed other developers so much that they deserve all 5 stars.

Cheap homes built with the least expensive materials and a short 12-month warranty that only covers spackle and paint. Make no mistake, these are starter/entry level homes. Any serious flaws are passed off as "acceptable building practices" and even the spackle and paint ended up being a DIY by myself. You should expect to have to make repairs yourself but if you are a DIYer, you can save some money with this builder. We are an older couple with no children living at home and one year in the home and the flooring is already failing, the doors don't close/sagging, the garage doors and openers are very noisy and glitchy, the sliding glass door is crooked and difficult to open, the yard is overfilled with soil and spills over the sidewalk and driveway, the floor joists have large holes cut through them so the floor sags, the clothes rods and shelves fell off the wall, the stucco keeps crumbling off, there are huge gaps in the siding that allows water penetration, the concrete in the basement is all cracked (spider web) and wavy, the driveway and front porch are cracked and sinking, the covered patio posts are not square to the house, the walls are hanging half way off the foundation. The ceilings are cracking. There are gaps around the outlets and light switches. You can see all the repairs/touch-up paint made during the build. The soil was not compacted and the house is settling and makes loud settling sounds. You sink in the ground if you walk too close to the foundation. The outside walls of the basement have inadequate moisture seal applied. The exterior paint is peeling and looks like a single coat was applied. AlI of my warranty issues were dismissed and only the spackle and paint was promised to fix.... which never happened BTW. On the good side, the home is warm and the roof doesn't leak. I wonder what year 2 will bring.

Super easy process from beginning to end. They made building our first home an enjoyable experience. Loved how I could customize anything and wasn't limited on my options. I would definitely build again with Psion Homes.

We built our house a little over 2 years ago. Our dream house. After the 1st year, I noticed sinking spots in my grass, specifically around the foundation. This past winter, with all the water we got, the soil had completed washed away leaving large voids under my driveway, patio, entrance walk way, and garage door entry. It was explained to me that there excavation contractor they used didn't compact the soil, therefore the wash out. Psion decided to do the quick fix and have polyurethane pumped under to raise the concrete back to its original form. The landscapers even came back out to fix the low spots, although they just brought in more decorative rock to fill up to the parging to look like they fixed it. 1 year later, following the polyurethane concrete pumping, a contractor I hired to add a concrete rv pad to my house, examined the concrete work and explained that the entry walk way and driveway continue to sink. I have reached out multiple times to Psion without any response. Do you even care about past cliental who used you to build or is the relationship over when the paperwork is signed? They have completely wiped there hands of anything to do with my build. Although out of warranty, I was hoping they would make it right by helping to fix the existing concrete. Although a contractor did come out and pump it back to form, the temporary fix hasn't even lasted 6 months. They came out and pumped in May and its currently September. The contractor even came out a 2nd time free of charge and pumped more material to relift the entryway. Its been a nightmare dealing with Psion. My house wasn't the only one who had this settling issue. Both my neighbors, who's houses were built by Psion, had the same problem and used the same contractor to relevel the concrete. Psion even failed to pay the contractor for months following his work. He had reached out to me and asked me to call Psion so he could get paid. Real honest I'd say. I even fixed most of my warranty work because I couldn't get them to come out and fix it. I waited almost 6 months following the warranty dead line for anyone to even reach back out to me about getting contractors scheduled. I've been patient and understanding during this time. I'm done trying to get ahold of them and getting the issue resolved. Build with someone else if you have the option.

Update July 9th, 2024- Psion homes still fails to take accountability and fix my concrete issues. The entry to the front door has sunk to low levels again, and my neighbors house no longer has the polyurethane foam touching the ground. Looks like more settlement issues. It is great to know that there is possibly no soil under the 3 car driveway and it could potentially collapse because of the home builder’s negligence to monitor there contractors work, or were cheap and didn’t want to pay to have the soil compacted around the house.
