We highly recommend Paul. We chose Paul to design the complete renovation and 1000 sq ft extension of a 70's ranch house in Santa Barbara. We don't live locally so it was important to have someone who could deliver on the entire process: architectural design, co-ordinating with other professionals, dealing with the planning office and securing permits. We found that in Paul. He has a special quality of combining his extensive architectural experience and knowledge of the local planning challenges (!) with an amazing client orientation. He listened carefully and explored what our objectives were for the design; and provided thoughtful options for us to consider. We ended up with a wonderful design. A great quality of Paul as an architect is that he truly wants to deliver on the client's vision; unlike some architects who are precious about 'their' design. Paul also has a very positive, pro-active approach to driving the overall process. He not only appreciates all the details of the design and engineering aspects, he also has a strong project management orientation. We knew when we spoke to Paul he was the best choice for us. Funny enough, one of the houses we considered had an extension that we really liked. We found out after working with Paul that he was the architect on that project!

Paul Zink is the architect for a studio work space in my back yard. Paul is a great asset for my project. He developed all of the plans and schedules, coordinated with structural and electrical engineers, and walked the plans through the city planning department. Paul brings a wealth of experience to a project, provides very useful design suggestions, helps me make critical construction/installation decisions, and always keeps me in the loop. Our family employed Paul to design plans to correct numerous issues we had at one of our commercial properties. At every step of the process Paul would engage us by walking us through possible scenarios and illustrating how the proposed solutions would remedy our issues. A capable communicator, Paul was able to navigate effectively through the rather labyrinthine city permitting process and address some of the thornier issues presented by city codes. My house was lost in the Thomas Fire. Paul made the Rebuilding Process doable. He first looked at pictures that I provided him and then designed a house incorporating them into a beautiful home. Paul recommended contractors and other vendors who've worked out very well. He is fully aware of the zone and building codes and prepared a set of plans for the contractor that was very complete.
