This is probably the best experience I had over last 3 remodels with different companies. It really makes sense to hire a Design-Build team for seamless execution of the project. Their project managers were well coordinated and efficient. Entire process was very transparent and we were notified on every step of the way. They helped with finish selections that made a huge difference on how the home came out in its final version. They also checked with me several months after the finish line.

I have had the pleasure of working with OpenRemodel on two distinct projects. The initial endeavor in 2020 involved a design-only project for a single-family house in East Bay, encompassing 2000 sqft of new additions and remodels. The subsequent project, located in the Peninsula, is a design-and-build project to expand an old house into a 2600-sqft stylish house through both new additions and remodels, with its building permit issued about one month ago.

Update on March 25,2024:
I will start the construction with OpenRemodel on April 1st, 2024.
I gave them the start date two weeks in advance and they are able to start on the date I requested.

They said they could start the construction after 3 days of permit approval, which is a good benefit for home owners. I can trust this, based on my experience with them.

Open Remodel Home Designs built our house in Menlo Park and we couldn’t be happier. Working with Ashish and his team(especially Mandeep) had far more highs than lows. The construction world is an interesting place and finding reliable, trustworthy people that do good work is a rarity. We engaged OR Homes design-build for a new home/whole home rebuild in Saratoga, CA. During the design and permitting process we engaged closely with Ashutosh, Shweta and Ron. They listened closely to all our needs and requirements, educating us about the design/build process and working with the city on permitting. I should say that they are very familiar with the city code and are creative in finding solutions and moving the process forward. We were kept abreast of budgetary pressures so we could incorporate $ considerations into our decision making. During the construction process we engaged closely with Mandeep and Ashish. Communication was excellent and they kept us up to date at all points of the build process. All sub-contractors were highly conscientious, polite and efficient, adapting well to various situations. I should say that from this experience we learnt that construction is a complex process with some variables (eg weather) which are not in our control. OR homes did a great job managing those variables and working creatively towards delivering the final product in reasonable time. Whenever we alerted them to a concern they took prompt action. The end result is truly outstanding, they have made our dream a reality. Finally I should say that the OR team delivered on budget with no surprises. Highly recommend this conscientious design build firm for your project.

My journey with open Remodel was really a great experience. I have got several bids from different companies and most of them never given full picture, after spoke to Ashish I got the comfort level. After negotiation done, we signed contract with the team, then all process started happening. After the initial site visit, we had several sessions with design team. The design team (Ashutosh, Sweta) are very knowledgeable and helpful. They explained each step and diagrams in the plan and provided very nice ideas, very flexible in time as well.

The permit process was very smooth with the city and got approved sooner than expected. The pre-approved permit with open remodel was very fast, stress free and some room for small changes as well. Special thanks to Ashish and team to get re approval with some site plan changes after the initial approval.

Through entire construction phase, starting from demolition till final inspection Mandeep has done fantastic job. His team members are nice, well-trained professionals, very friendly staffs. Mandeep able to help and answer each question during the construction time. He was very nice even replying to my messages during off work hours. Open remodel team always given me 2 or more choices (all best) and execute the customer choices, they never force you to do anything

Open Remodel knows “what they are doing”, what they “have to do” and what “you want”. If you are reading this post, it is worth having a conversation with the team before you make any decision. I highly recommend this company if you want stress free construction project

A nice team who has done a commendable work for us. We had 'renovation with addition of extra square feet' work including adding garage. The project involved designing, getting city permit for complete rehaul of roof, flooring, bathroom, paintings, plumbing, Hvac etc. We added more square feet and attached garage to our house.

I would definitely recommend them on basis of the following:
1. COST : reasonably priced but at the same time they are a very knowledgeable team
2. WORK QUALITY : I was happy with the output which was in orderly and timely fashion. They helped get the permit from the city. They were well versed with architectural requirements, city procedures, today's construction styles, etc.
3. SERVICE : They accommodated change requests, late evenings and weekend meetings etc. They suggested is options, they were very mindful of our needs and expense.

This team is someone I would trust and definitely going with them for my other property in Fremont, CA.
