I have been a licensed California General Contractor for over 40 years. I retrofitted and bolted over 23 foundations in the San Gabriel Valley in the early 2000's. Since I am older I decided to contract with Optimum Seismic for a property I own in Pasadena. Because they own their own fabrication shop they were able to complete my Pasadena soft story retrofit start to finish in 3 weeks. As soon as one construction process finished the next crew would arrive the following morning. They only missed two days which is unheard of. The job was clean and professional because of onsite supervisor Edward. I enjoyed working with office staff Tita Macaspac and Rosa Flores. Jared Duke met with me 4 or 5 times before the job began to outline what I could expect and to close out the job. Amazingly I had no complaints from the 10 families who live at the property. And yes the project came in on budget !

The worst most disgusting disrespectful crews of men. Blasting ranchero music yelling screaming and whistling the whole time like they are at a bar in Ensenada.
Maybe the architects know what they are doing and satisfy building owners who pay them but crews of boy children ARE NEVER SUPERVISED BY ANYBODY! SAW LEAD CONTRACTOR ONCE. It is a horrible experience for the building tenants and I’m not talking about construction noise.

So this company came to do our seismic retrofit a couple weeks before Christmas. We were expecting the work to last through February and maybe even into march. This company and the gentleman who were working here were outstanding they were professional if they helped accommodate us the tenants there was never garbage left everywhere or anything left a mess they always cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend this company wholeheartedly amazing people did a great job.

We started working with Optimum, and specifically Jason Pak, to handle the retrofitting on our rental property. They worked quickly and communicated well throughout the process. Working with contractors can be challenging since many times workers don't show up, management is indifferent and communication is poor.

That was not our experience with Optimum. Even when we had to shutdown the project in March 2020 due to the pandemic, Optimum did not aggressively try to collect the remaining balance. They recognized that the work had to be done first. Once it was done, we reviewed the project and it was more than satisfactory. Everything was done on time and even the final, minor issues were resolved quickly and without complaint.

I would not hesitate to refer them to others.

We hired Optimum Seismic to handle the soft story retrofit project for an apartment building in February 2022 after several months researching different companies. They are not the cheapest but they included everything in the initial estimate so there are no hidden costs unlike other companies out there. They started construction at the end of April 2022 and finished on time near the beginning of July 2022. They did an outstanding job and were very professional. Both Guillermo, the client relations manager, and Edward, the foreman who was at the job site most of the time, were very understanding and addressed all our concerns and answered all our questions patiently. We plan to use them again on our next project.

She has been a strong communicator walking me through each step of the process, has been very responsive addressing all my questions and concerns in a thorough and timely fashion. She has been a great liaison between me, the city and the project lead at my property. She is very organized and professional and has gone above and beyond to make sure the project was complete in a timely and professional manner. Overall my experience with Optimum Seismic has been very good from start to finish.
