I am a widower, working overseas and approaching retirement. I decided that it was necessary to sell my small (20 acres) Virgina farm in Appomattox County as my wife had passed and I would not be able to properly maintain the property by myself after I retired.

There was never any doubt of who I wanted to manage the sale. Nolen Real Estate is a locally owned and operated agency with a reputation for both their knowledge of the Appomattox area and market, as well as going above and beyond for their clients. I was not disappointed.

As stated before, I am an expat working overseas. The house was in need of repairs, mostly minor but still necessary to make the place marketable. Thomas Nolen's knowledge of the area - he was born and raised in Appomattox - proved invaluable and he and his excellent staff helped me with enlisting contractors (all local) to perform the necessary services required.

We listed the farm in early February and by the 11th of same, we had a contract. The sale was finalized on Feb 24.
