Yes it is still the "seller's" market. And it's not easy to have an offer accepted. Add to that the humongous documents to read and understand as a new buyer and it'll soon feel like ages since you had a good night's sleep! That's when agents like Matthew Minic come to the rescue.

It was roughly a 3 months' journey that took us to becoming first time home owners. Right from the beginning, Matt helped me understand the process, the dynamics of the real estate, and where to begin with. Thanks to his knowledge and expertise in the field, I never felt like being overwhelmed. Before placing the offer, he walked me through the bits and pieces of it and helped me get a thorough understanding of it. I still remember bombarding him with tons of newbie questions and he would be patiently answering every one of them. You finally get into the contract, and then what -- you have a dozen critical selections to make (the lender, homeowner's insurance, new-home warranty) and decisions to take based on the inspections (home, termite, foundation, etc.). Matt provided me with references to some really good brokers and inspectors, which I found greatly useful. In particular, his help with the insurace broker was of paramount importance, simply because getting a new policy in California has now become literally next to impossible.

Among all the great attributes of Matt, I think the one that truly sticks one and worth mentioning here is his dedication towards his duty as a realtor. It was through this dedication that he was able to detect a critical issue in this property's foundation which was missed even by the home inspector. It was an issue with the foundation rebards having rusted endings, something that's small enough to be overlooked but big enough to lead to major issues if not treated in time. Now being a homeowner, whenever I would look back and ponder over one of the major decisions I took in my life for my family, I would never forget the critical role that Matt played in it, and would ever be grateful to him, and to my Lord Jesus for this great blessing in the person of Matthew Minic!

Listen to Matt when he recommends improvements prior to listing. We could have sold sooner if we listened. Once we made improvements, we sold within days of re-listing. We moved out of town and Matt handled meeting inspectors, contractors, and gardener. Trust his instincts.
