We did not have a good experience with Landforms design. We wanted a mid-century, contemporary home. I will say that Blair drew up a great plan for us with a contemporary roof line and large expansive windows. His drawings went to his drafter who shortened the windows and changed the roof line to a typical upside down “V” configuration. When we indicated that we didn’t like the changes, Blair told us it wasn’t in our budget to have it any different. $3,000 later, we walked away. We chose Inouye Design to design our home and had an amazing experience with them. If you want a “run of the mill” traditional home, Landforms does a pretty great job. If you want something truly unique, try someone else.

Sure you can get cheaper. Been there done that and after lots of disappointments and mess ups I had enough and went to Blair. His attention to ALL the details and his innovative designs are top notch! I can’t say enough about how happy I am with his work! Great customer service and a friend from years to come!

Landforms does a great job designing homes! I love the customer service you get with their employees. I went in looking for a smaller home and their stock home plans helped me find that. Blair helped me customize the home i picked to fit my needs and it still stayed in my budget. Everyone i worked with was very friendly and i would recommend it to anyone i know looking for a new home. If you are looking for an architect who is straight forward and honest i suggest Landforms!

Design at its best! Landforms Design is an exceptional home design firm. We have worked with Blair and his firm over the last 10 years on various projects, all have been successful. This office is not very good at what they do. Be careful if you decide to go with these guys. You better be ready to pay for their mistakes in the field. You will not get a thoroughly thought through set of plans. If you want quality and care, this is not the shop for you. This is not a licensed architect. He is also not insured. So, if he ever makes a mistake, good luck having him pay for it.

The architect draws a sketch that you like and then hands it off to one of his drafters (not architects). Drafters process plans based on repetition, not actual understanding of architecture and construction. They process plans like a fast food restaurant processes synthetic burgers. Yea they look like plans, but no way are they of any quality. They are a "figure it out later" kind of shop.

These guys had mistakes on plans left and right. They are not very skilled in site work analysis and engineering. If anyone has built before, field changes cost a lot of money. We were 15-20% over budged because of their mistakes.

It concerns me that many jurisdictions don't pay more attention to details and approve plans that have so many flaws. But then again, people that review plans (cities and counties) don't care either.

When will people take pride in the work they do?

If there was a zero, I would rate them at zero.

We started the process of building with the owner months ago and after the first meeting we were impressed with his obvious talent. We have now gotten 1 revision since then and the plans were sent to engineering without us even knowing. We never gave our approval. Needless to say we were shocked, so we requested a meeting and the owner. He sat down with us and said I heard you want to make some changes, sorry the plans are done. We tried to explain we had never approved the plans and felt a custom home (5,000 sq feet) should get more than 1 revision, but he said we were emailed pdf's and that's more than he usually does. He didn't want to work on our plans anymore, threw our plans in his garbage can, said he was too busy and under too much pressure and finally concluded with swearing a couple times. We stood up, gathered our children and walked out. I'm still speechless.....
