Unfortunately, we had a pretty negative experience with John James Properties. We received our final contract in August 2023 and our deck was only just completed in October 2024. Throughout this long and difficult process John James & Co was extremely unresponsive, sometimes ignoring multiple emails or calls in a row. We struggled with their architect, who sent us incorrect designs and failed to incorporate our requests multiple times. Once construction started, it took 2-3 times longer than advertised and while it happened, our unit experienced water damage despite multiple urgent requests to John James & Co to replace the gutters and address the issue. The final product turned out good, but this experience was very difficult, delayed, and disappointing. Would not recommend.

During this period of material shortages and long wait times for project scheduling, John James Properties was able to complete a new [composite] deck within 3 weeks of our approval of the quote. The quote itself was completed within several days of first contact. John James Properties did what they said they were going to do and when they were going to do it. All calls and emails were answered. I even called once and got a return call w/o listening to voicemail .John just saw my call and returned it immediately which was outstanding. The crew was very easy to work with. In addition if you live in an area with a HOA, John James Properties made sure materials deliveries were promptly moved from the front yard to the backyard. The payment method is very professional, using DocuSign for contracts and an online secure payment portal. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Absolutely outstanding service. Thank goodness for John James Properties! My home looks fabulous. Amazing service received by John James Properties on my plumbing and remodel project. They did it all, flooring, plumbing, tile work, electric, etc. You can’t even tell I once had an unfinished basement. I now have a full bathroom and 4th bedroom! I Highly recommend!! They are completely dependable and I would not hesitate to recommend John James Properties to everyone. The employees are always on time, professional and work hard to get the job done in a timely manner.

I can not speak more highly of a contractor than writing a five-star review for this outstanding company! John's team was professional, their price was fair and they took the time to explain what they would be doing to complete a major ceiling repair job in our Washington, DC condo. The team, led by Dennis, prepared the repair area meticulously, including covering the sofa, rug, hardwood floor and creating a work area of thin plastic sheeting, that protected dust from flying all over the place. They barely took a break for water and did the repair work flawlessly, not leaving a speck of dirt or paint anywhere. Our renter was very pleased with their expert work. In the end, the ceiling and the wall that were repaired and painted, looked as good or better than new. John James Properties is by far, one of the top contractors in the United States. We are all fortunate enough to have them in our backyard, based in the DMV area. I can't wait to use them for other projects would encourage you to call them for any/all repair, remodeling or major work. They are THE BEST!!
