The whole new build process with J Thomas homes was so simple from start to after completion.
From the beginning, when we were trying to figure out the floor plan that would work best for our family, Tyler was extremely helpful and offered good suggestions.
We had modifications that we wanted made to the structure and there was no hesitation, making our dreams a reality.
During our design meeting our thoughts were listened to and heard.
While completing our final walk through, we pointed out some changes that needed to be made. They were done further than our expectations.
Since moving in less than a year ago, we have had a few minor issues that have been fixed within a timely manor.
We would recommend to any one, that J Thomas Homes is the builder to choose when building your dream home.

Wouldn’t buy from them again. Poor communication, empty promises, continuously blaming customer for builder shortcomings. We brought several families to the neighborhood who bought from Tyler from JThomas homes and there isn’t one of us that would say it was a good experience. I’m learning that the neighborhoods of people have similar stories as mine. The quality of work is fantastic in some areas and embarrassing in others. The subs that have been over to repair issues have been wonderful to work with. Check with the city to get your building history before you sign, my advice is get an inspection of property by a third party BEFORE you sign on your house knowing everything that failed inspection has been addressed. Water diversion is a huge issue with jthomas, they don’t care if your house floods once they’ve been paid. There were wonderful things about this experience which is why i rated them 2/5 stars…. But there were way more bad things than good for the 4 homes built for our families. Really wish it was an experience i could say was a good one, but it simply wasn’t.

Our home buying experience with J Thomas Homes has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating. We initially felt confident working with J Thomas Homes, who seemed professional and attentive to our needs. However, this confidence quickly faded after our extended closing period, during which the builder had ample time to address our requests and finalize the home.
Upon moving into our new home, we were greeted with numerous unresolved issues. It was clear that once the sale was complete, J Thomas Homes lost interest in ensuring their clients felt valued and appreciated.
One major issue was an open concrete washout bin in front of our home. This was a safety hazard for our children playing basketball in the driveway, and each truck washout posed a risk of splashing onto our parked vehicles that were parked in our driveway. Despite being told the bin would be removed three days after our move-in date, it remained. J Thomas Homes initially denied ownership of the bin. They initially lied and said it was not theirs, only admitting the truth after being cornered. Even then, they made excuses, stating they needed it for one more concrete job before removing it. When the bin was eventually replaced, fortunately we were home at that exact moment and we had to instruct the worker to place the new bin elsewhere—something we should never have had to do.
Another major concern was the "final grading", which we were assured would be completed before our move-in date so we could install a fence for our dogs. This was asked throughout the building process that ā€œfinal gradeā€ meant fence ready. Despite having this in writing and in our signed new homeowner book, two weeks after moving in, the grading was still not completed. Repeatedly messaging the builder, we were met with delays and excuses. When they brought in fill dirt, it was contaminated with hazardous materials like barbed wire, fence posts, glass, and fiberglass. Our backyard was unsafe for our children and pets, and we had to clear out the trash ourselves—a task no new homeowner should face upon moving into a brand new build.
Despite our civil complaints, we ended up having to bring in our own dirt and rent our own equipment to complete the grading satisfactorily. Even now, three weeks after moving in, the property survey is still incomplete and we still have zero communication from J Thomas homes about this. We were falsely blamed by an employee that due to our "request for backfill" buried the property line stakes—yet another excuse to cover their lack of attentiveness. Especially when it was the developer who pushed even more dirt creating a birm on our back property line from installing a sidewalk along the main road.
Our master bathroom mirror was supposed to be replaced the week after we moved in but still hasn't been, despite multiple reminders. The exact words and excuse of ā€œthe mirror is still on its way. It was suppose to be with the mirrors that were delivered to another house yesterday but didn’t get put on the truckā€ is un exceptable at this point and their excuse is mute. Several cabinets need repairs still, doors don’t latch properly, and we have other warranty claims that we need to begin making, but the builder has not sent us the warranty portal link despite our multiple requests. Did I mention the door knobs that fell off?
This is not our first new build home purchase throughout our military journey, but it has been by far the worst experience we've ever had with a builder. I am sharing my review about this builder, their lack of communication and customer service in warning of anyone who is considering building with them or purchasing with J Thomas Homes. We were told that the ā€œsuperintendentā€ is aware, but we have yet to meet this person, or hear any communication from him/her. I am astounded that this is how they treat a home buyer along with the fact that this home buyer is an active duty soldier. God bless America and welcome to Cache Valley. Don’t recommend buying from J Thomas Homes.

My parents built a home with J Thomas and the work was not good quality. There are several flooding issues, the dishwasher they installed never worked, the door to the garage was hung wrong and difficult to open, the door knobs have failed (can’t open the door, had to take the knob off).

My entire experience with J Thomas Homes has been great. Tyler Baxter my sales manager has been terrific. Since the moment I saw a spec-home to see the details of their finishings, I was not disappointed when I walked into my new home. Tyler kept me informed through the whole process, and was always available to answer my questions.. he is amazing!
I love my home, they definitely think about those high end finishes we all want in homes and make it happen.
