Would NOT recommend this company at all, please read the reviews ! The ceiling fell in, after letting them know they were very much nonchalant and didn’t show any concern towards me and my family, only made accusations of someone walking in the attic and possibly falling through (basically putting the blame on us) ā€œmind you this is a small home, also attic wasn’t accessible. We had to make our own arrangements to pay for hotel stay, food, etc (which very stressful especially since we have 3 small children) . They didn’t attempt to compensate us and still demanded rent.

I’ve rented with this company for the past two years, and it’s truly been a great experience from start to finish. The property was well-maintained, and anytime I needed something, the team was quick, professional, and efficient—always getting things taken care of right away. I’ve never had any major issues, and communication has always been smooth and responsive. It’s rare to find a rental company that’s this reliable and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Not quite sure how my first review was removed but I will make sure to copy and paste this one to my notes in case it’s deleted again. When I left my first review I was scared to even express my experience because I was still a tenant but after being ignored I decided that a public review would more than likely get their attention which it did. I moved my business into 400 Southlake Blvd J2 in Feb of 2024 and from the first month when there was a ceiling leak it went down hill. When the leak happened I reported it immediately and was met with disbelief by Sharon until I sent her a video and suggested she looked closer to the obvious water on the floor. Her resolution was to lay bath towels down until the issue could be resolved. Those towels laid there until sometime in March, during this time a contractor of mine discovered wood rot and mold downstairs in addition to cracks in the doors which created condensation and air loss. Once again I was given a hard time and when they conducted the mold test I was unable to get the results after asking numerous times. What they did do was put an industrial sized filter downstairs that ran day and night and later I was told ā€œremnantsā€ were found but blamed for the test being ā€œinconclusiveā€ because the tester never returned to test upstairs which I never denied him access to do. The automatic lights would be on when I arrived to work many times and I wasn’t believed about that until complaining multiple times. I had to postpone my grand opening and when we finally did it months after occupying the building and it seemed people were working on things the hot water heater bursted and flooded the entire downstairs. They never reimbursed my husband for getting towels to clean up the water, or offered anything for the inconvenience. They charged me over $300 for a magnetic sign I could have had made on Amazon for $29.99. When they agreed to let me out of my lease two weeks prior to leaving they had an entire Mexican crew doing construction and taking up parking spots and my clients and I had to listen to drilling, knocking, and stepping over loose floorboards and cords. NO communication was provided about that construction and Saturday is my busiest day. Before applying new floors my clients could see and smell mold and since they threatened to charge me for an additional test I DECLINED it twice in an email and yet upon move out when I left the place in perfect condition I was charged over $400 for a ā€œmold testā€ because they ā€œFELT obligatedā€ to conduct one after our complaints. There’s so much more I could say but overall the WORST part was their nasty attitude, avoidance, and lack of professionalism. It’s a family and so nobody is held accountable. LeQuan stood me and the president of the MBL up for a meeting he chose the date and time for, the mom Sharon is rude, and I have nothing positive to say about them. Removing my initial review is just DISHONEST and disgusting. Anyways here I am again so that people can BEWARE. Do not do business with these people.

I recently moved my counseling practice into 411 Branchway Road North Chesterfield, VA 23236 which is owned and operated by Hylton & Company. Everything has been amazing about the experience. Everyone with Hylton I have dealt has been very friendly and prompt. Also the building has been recently renovated and looks amazing. There is an ease of doing business with the keyless entry and automated lease payment system. I am extremely happy I made the move and would recommend it to others looking to lease small office spaces.

Not one to write reviews but I just want to spare others the headache. I have been dealing with managment company's for 12+ years, 7 different company’s, that’s what experience I have. I’d like to state they are nice ppl very friendly. However when it comes to doing business i have to do it else where. Communication and logs of invoices are slim to none(no log of my tenants deposit so they won’t pay it back I’ll have to go the legal route to get it back from hylton). They have a portal but don’t use it no invoices nothing but rent in and managment fee out, not sure why other than hiding something like mark ups). Coordination between team members slim to none. Urgency to get things done like get tenants in and repairs fixed very slow. The hylton team seems to care more about what others think of them (image) than running a business. I notice they neglect the property managment side of the house to focuses on home sales (my opinion). Not surprised at all at the other 1 star reviews and the denied application claims, anything to collect a fee they will do. If you are looking for any of the things listed above I suggest you go with another managment company.

Not the one to usually write reviews but when it comes to people’s livelihood then I would want them to be aware of this company. Don’t look pass the other negative reviews on here like I did because what other’s are saying about this company is definitely true.
First off the application process is dragged out for so long. It’s best to get all your question gathered first because the communication is not so great. There will be days that go by when trying to reach out by phone or email and no response.
Upon moving in there was a number of things wrong within the home to where if any type of inspection was done then they would have known about the issues. Also there isn’t any paperwork giving to you at move in to where you can document any issues that was present beforehand so I’m sure when moving out they will try to charge you for it like it’s your fault.
Don’t get me started on how horrible it is to get maintenance request taken care of. At almost a month later from putting in a maintenance request nothing has been done. All the times I have reached out about it, im giving the same response ā€œI don’t have no control over them and it’s people ahead of youā€. Because mind you there is a 3rd party involved because obviously they don’t have maintenance staff that take of the issues. Ok understandably but a month is ridiculous. Obliviously the companies they use don’t care so it seems like they don’t either and just use the same excuse.
All this company cares about is $$$$ because forbid you don’t pay you rent , they will be down your necks but doesn’t seem to care about the concerns of their tenants.

Wanted to rent a house. Called there several times, sent dozens of message’s, requested an application and never got a response back. Have a different understanding of quality to customers!

Hylton's foundation was "built" around affordable housing. One would expect that a renter may not have a perfect credit history but if their income is sufficient and the rental history is good then they would be eligible to rent a home...because after all if they had these things alongside a perfect credit history, they would probably prefer to buy a home.

At Hylton anticipate needing to be mortgage ready or be denied. Good rental/mortgage history and income doesn't cut it. Application fees add up so skip on this company.

It's super easy to view the property unlike some in the area; however, the application process is stressful.

Communication with the rental contact Victor is very sparse and the process is lengthy. I do appreciate Sharon for facilitating conversations because after speaking with her we would get a response from Victor. In a customer facing role you expect to hear back and have someone answer the phone but in the course of 2 weeks Victor rarely answered the phone...he didn't answer the first 7 business days that our application was in.

I also spoke on a "recorded line" with LeQuan; I heard the recording being started just as I answered my line... I was not actually advised that the call was being recorded. Not sure why our conversation would even need to be recorded. The call was a follow-up to my email regarding a denial due to a car payment history...not rental/mortgage history...a car loan with a blemish. LeQuan said had he reviewed our applications prior to Victor, he would have denied us immediately due to the car payment even though all else was good to go; arrogant to say the least. Being that we had only 4 weeks to secure housing due to a contract pending on our home, I wish he would have reviewed it first as it took another week to get an answer for the application status. He advised that others on his team were trying to give us benefit of the doubt and proceed with other application verifications but ultimately when it was brought before the review team, he denied it. 2 of 4 weeks to find a rental were lost while we exercised patience to hear back.

I would not recommend their services as a homeowner or tenant as their best practices in securing a tenant are lacking.

We have already determined that nothing will change with the application status so no need to reply. Just providing my review.
