I asked when we would get the keys to our home so that we could schedule the movers, and the owner of the company had the audacity to tell me to "just focus on my pregnancy" as his response to my question. This was in front of my husband and dad. The owner also tried to pass off our house with a horrifically crooked wall and gave us a lot of crap when we demanded they fix the wall. We now have nail pops all over our home 5 years later.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are extremely unprofessional and rude to customers.

I'm actually quite shocked to see the negative reviews as I have had an incredible experience with Hallmark Homes and I would build with them over ANY other builder in the state! They are efficient, responsive, welcoming and truly build a great quality home. Thank you Hallmark Homes!!!

Sue and the team have been fantastic to work with. I had a few late additions and they made it work and met my timeline.

They seem fine at first, but their house has not held up well. Three years in the home and we have massive cracks that are so bad it’s dropping drywall on our kitchen table as my wife watches the crack run after winter snow gets on the roof. And their response is to refer to the 2-10 warranty we get. Which is a hassle when you’re wondering if the house is structurally sound. You shouldn’t have to worry about this three years into a brand new home. This is the second round of cracks that are not typical drywall cracks according to other professionals who have seen them. First time they just threw mud in the crack, and when it came back they just avoid the issue. Built good enough for them to get paid. I wouldn’t recommend building with them.

UPDATE: I figured I would give a five year review as it is necessary. We've had many problems come to light over the five years of being in our home that were not initially caught. The biggest issue was with plumbing. The plumber uses a brand of joint called a Shark Bite. This joint was used on the main line going into the pressure regulator. The joint failed and an estimated 500 - 600 gallons of water entered my finished basement. Total damage was around $30K. I owed $5K after my deductible. I had three independent plumbers take a look at the situation. Each said they would never use a Shark Bite as a permanent joint. There are too many cases of failure. Unfortunately, if you go into my utility closet, you can see about 15 Shark Bites. My home is basically a ticking time bomb for water issues. The plumber they use defends his actions (despite what his peers say) and of course, Hallmark won't do anything because we are past the one year mark for warranty. Other issues that I've found - holes in sheet rock hidden behind light fixtures, water damage in my ceiling due to Hallmark using the wrong boot jack on the roof, sink drains that constantly back up despite little use, water damage around a window seal (in Hallmark's defense, they did repair the sheet rock inside after the one year mark. Most of my positive experiences with Hallmark come from Dan). In short, the workmanship on the house is pretty shoddy. It feels like I'm constantly dealing with water damage issues in my house because they took obvious shortcuts that were discovered after the year mark. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HALLMARK DESPITE MY EARLIER REVIEW NOW THAT I'M 5 YEARS IN.

My wife and I recently finished building with Hallmark, and we had an overall positive experience with them. I enjoyed how upfront our representative was about costs (even design center costs) during our initial meetings. This allowed us to accurately price out what our home would costs before we signed any paperwork. The overall quality of the home is great too. We hired a home inspector (highly recommended even on newly constructed homes). Most of the items on the home inspection were small, and the inspector mentioned that he usually gives a list two to three times as long for newly constructed homes.

Although we had a great experience overall, there are some items to be aware of. The build time was long. We did the pre-construction meeting at the end of July and didn't complete the house till mid may. That's almost 10 months. However, they did work with us on some smaller issues because of the delay, which we appreciated. There were also some other communication errors that were frustrating at times.

Again, the overall experience was positive. We would recommend building with them as long as you don't mind the wait.

We had our home built in the Pastures at Saddleback subdivision in Lake Point. Hallmark has made this the most wonderful experience for us. Everything has been done in the time they said it would be, they have been professional and kind, and very quick to respond to an issue that we had after move in. I just can't say enough good things about them. everyone from the agent that we first talked to to the owner of the company has been absolutely fantastic to deal with. Our home is top quality! Everything is absolutely beautiful and well-built! I HIGHLY recommend them for your future home!

Have the hardest time getting Hallmark to complete any warranty work on my home after the sale. I was very happy to get into my home but it is impossible to get simple things like nail pops fixed... I've had patches and spots on the walls of my beautiful new home for 6 months from half-finished jobs. No follow up or updates from them. I have to reach out to Hallmark to remind them there is still pending work. They agreed, there is no debate about whether they should finish the work or not, they simply don't get it done. I have been calm, polite, patient through the whole thing. After being told many times "we'll take care of you, we'll make it right" they have definitely not kept their end of the bargain. I am left to do the work myself. Very disappointed. Would not do business with these guys again.
