Very happy with Humza and his team's work. I approached him after I was left hanging on my remodeling project for half a year. Humza was clear about the work and had a very clear breakdown of charges and timelines. He clarified any question I had on time and even worked with to add information to the plans based on the clarifications requested by the city. I also found his budgeting is clear and pricing reasonable compared to many firms which seem to charge an arm and leg when it comes to building plans.

Super satisfied with Humza and the senior engineer Lalit, they helped us prepare the engineered drawing, calculations of the retaining wall. We are surprised by how prompt Humza replies to our emails, I received many responses right away even at night and weekend. Humza and Lalit are very patient and professional. Humza and his team are extraordinarily easy to work with and produce excellent work. They jumped in and rescued a project that was going south. We ran into a situation where our our contractor overcommitted to our backyard redesign project and was unable to deliver on producing structural engineering plans for a pergola permit. This required us to call around and find a structural engineer on extremely short notice. I cold called around a bit and talked to a few firms that might be able to help. I was disappointed with my discussions. When I called Humza, we connected immediately and I felt a sense of trust and empathy for our situation. Not only did he take on the project, his team delivered structural engineering plans that passed the permit plan within just a few days. He joined me on a trip to the city of Belmont and helped ensure that the plans passed plan check and that we were granted a permit by the city planner. Humza is a subject matter expert and rockstar in his field, and I felt like he was my wingman making what I thought to be a stressful process very easy. I *highly* recommed Humza and his team. We were referred to Humza at HCSE by an architect friend to replace a large balcony/deck. It was a rather tricky project as our house is on a hillside and the balcony is 3 stories above a sloped ground.

But the real snafu turned out to be the City of Fremont's tight restrictions on how balconies are constructed in our area. It took nearly a year to get a permit from the city and we never would have gotten through it without Humza. He was INCREDIBLY persistent and patient and went back to the city numerous times with different ideas until they finally approved. Throughout the process we found Humza to be extremely responsive, informative and easy to work with.

The actual construction of the deck went very smoothly with no delays or problems. The crew was prompt, efficient and professional, and they did beautiful work. We are thrilled with the outcome and very grateful to Humza for sticking with us.

We are a local general contractor who complete between 30 to 40 Four Seasons Sunroom projects per year. At a recent city inspection of one of our larger foundations, the inspector noted that “although we had completed the work to CBC standards, they would “feel better” if we had a structural engineer sign off on the project.” This was disclosed to us on a Wednesday when we have a 31 cubic yard concrete pour scheduled for Saturday morning and we had no intentions of rescheduling that as it would have tossed our production schedule into disarray.
So we frantically called around looking for a qualified engineer who would respond quickly to our situation. Fortunately we contacted HC Structural Engineering and discussed our situation with Humza. He was not only sympathetic to our situation, he acted immediately to provide us with the inspection and documentation we required to keep this project on track. We had scheduled a reinspection with the City on Friday and Humza performed his inspection late Wednesday (same day!) and provided us with his written and stamped approval Thursday afternoon in plenty of time for our scheduled inspection on Friday.
Without his assistance, our clients and project would have been pushed back at least a week in production which as you know would have undoubtedly caused the rescheduling of many other aspects of that project.
And while I am sure that not every request gets turned around in 24 hours, we were incredibly grateful for the quick and professional service we received from Humza and HC Structural Engineering and we will most certainly be utilizing their services at every opportunity.
