Updated to respond to Goldcrest. If I could give - stars I would not recommend Goldcrest to anyone. Cheap finishes, they don’t stand by their homes or 1 year warranty. Refused to fix interior doors that were hung and shut while still wet and say it’s because of the settling and use, we have lived in our house for a year. Update: There were multiple claims that were actually denied. The doors not being flush in two of the bedroom and there is a big gouge out of one (see pics). Screen door with holes. The super tried touch up two of the doors with a roller making the doors look even worse (see pics), so telling the home owner touch ups are the owners responsibility is not a true statement and buying a new house and needing to touch up doors is horrible. A claim was denied for a cabinet front (see pics) when I disputed the denial, I sent a picture dated from the walk through a year ago all of the sudden a new one has been ordered. Other damage to the cabinets was denied and I was told I would get a touch up marker but that the color may not match. The stress of trying to have things fixed has been the worst of it all. Our garage door was brown and then painted gold you can see the brown on the sides and in between the slats once again I was told it would be fixed and had painters come out take my gold paint I had and said they would be back when it warmed up to fix it, then got told no Goldcrest is not fixing it and who knows if I’ll get my paint back. There is also a big chunk out of the top of the garage we were told would be fixed and here it is in the pictures not fixed.
Things that were fixed but took some time to take place and still waiting for a few.
1. A hole in the front of the home allowing birds to come in.
2. The front door, this is not being fixed by Goldcrest as they denied the claim, Readymade doors stepped up to the plate for the door as it leaked letting water in and causing damage to the floor and molding. Also it is not flush causing the door to not close properly and the lock being very hard to lock and unlocked even after two adjustment’s and the T-Frame on the front just wobbles around. The door was painted black which Readymade disclosed to us that they advised Goldcrest they would not warranty the door if it was painted this color as black attracts heat and will cause damage to the door, but Goldcrest seemed to not care as I have a black door causing a lot of these issues.
3. There was no insulation in the attic above our master bedroom and for months we were miserable and it took months for Goldcrest to figure it out and get it fixed. Our power bill for months was more than double than our neighbors and when asked if some of that cost could be covered we were told no.
When talking to other neighbors my problems with Goldcrest seem very small actually when I have heard what they have had to go through and how unfortunate for many of us just to be given a lawyers email address and be sent on our way.

We were told by multiple contractors that you don’t pay them and that’s why they don’t finish work or if they continue to work for you they require that you pay half up front before they even start work.

I hope that others see this review and read the other ones as well and think twice before choosing Goldcrest as the reviews speak for themselves. Keep in mind some of the 5 star reviews are from employees or spouses of employees.

As a realtor I have sold many homes in Utah that were new construction. I was so impressed with the design of their subdivided in Tooele. The value is definitely there. My clients looked at so many homes that were existing and by the time we added up repairs and updates the homes cost more than new construction. I would definitely recommend Goldcrest Homes!

After moving into my new home, I started experiencing several issues. For over a year, I have been dealing with problems with the furnace, air conditioner, electrical system, concrete, and ceiling. During the warranty phase, I was told to contact the warranty office, but every time I did, I felt dismissed and the issues weren't truly resolved. I was also told that if any issue came up after the one-year warranty period, it would still be covered, but that was not the case. The homes themselves are decent, but the paint is cheap, the toilets are the cheapest model available, and the list of subpar features goes on. I suggest that anyone considering buying should think twice and ask people currently living here for an honest review.

Yet another "if I could leave zero stars I would". Take forever to pay contractors, pay without late fees, threaten to sue, pay to have lien lifted and then have their bank cancel payment when they think lien has been lifted. These guys are dirty.

In my opinion I would stay away from this builder. We spent over 500 thousand dollars for our home just for me to consider it a fixer upper. Hvac systems are too small for these houses and I have had multiple professional opinions stating they are too small. My house struggles to get cooler than 75 degrees in the summer. Builder promises customer satisfaction but you can ask multiple homeowners and they will agree that they are anything but satisfied with this builder. We have had basement flooding, due to the basement exit built with the home. This has been a typical sales process meaning once you buy they don’t care to help after that. Corners are being cut and you can tell the quality is not in these homes.

This was an easy process. From the day we went to the open house to the day we closed we were happy with how seamless the process was. The people at Goldcrest are so friendly and easy to work with. Anytime I had a question, they were quick to answer them. We feel we got fair market value on our old home that we traded in to get our new home. That was the main selling point for me. I didn’t have to fix my old home up to sell it. I got to stay there until the new home was completed and then just moved out. The finished basement is also a selling point as most builders don’t offer that. The home plans are perfect for single, multi or partial rental and the outside of the homes are not cookie cutter. Each home has its own uniqueness. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a beautiful new home.

Two year update: We still love our home, however, there are a few things we don't particularly love. The building materials aside from the counter tops and our backsplash, particularly the flooring, drywall, and paint are super cheap, and certain items that should have been covered not only in our home but in other neighbors' homes have not been covered. Our back porch did not have a step and there was an 18 inch drop from the porch to the yard and when we asked for a step to be put in, we were told they would not do that. We paid $600,000 for our house and thought the overall quality of materials would just be better.

Absolutely loved working with Goldcrest. We were not looking to move for a few more years, but as soon as we drove through the neighborhood and saw that the homes are not all cookie cutter, we looked further into it. The homes are a little more expensive than other new construction in town, but you're really paying for everything up front instead of having to pay out of pocket later. Front landscaping is done, the basement is 100% finished, and finishes are what would be an upgrade anywhere else (quartz countertops and a marble backsplash in the kitchen as a couple examples). There is also plenty of natural light and the standard 9 ft ceilings throughout, even in the basement, is fantastic.

The trade-in program was also a HUGE plus for us. We had an older home that needed a lot of work to be able to list it and get any showings, so to be able to get a fair offer for the home as is and we didn't have to live through fixing the house up and then showings while having two young children was amazing and made the whole process so much less stressful. Brad Orgill was awesome to work with and I am so glad we chose our Goldcrest Home to be our forever home.

Goldcrest Homes helped us sell our old house and buy our new one. They were professional and courteous. At first we were not looking to buy a new house, but their offer was fair and we used the equity to buy our new house.

The new house is awesome and there is plenty of room to grow. We are very happy with our new home and the experience we had working with Goldcrest.
