When I started asking around for recommendations for a structural engineering group, Fortress was brought up by other people. So if people are talking about them in a positive light, they must be doing something right! Our experience with them has been great. Communication back-and-forth was simple, timely, and non-invasive. All around, smooth process! And we never felt that our job was“too small“ for them to bother with! Great communication, fast service, honest feedback. I used Fortress to inspect a fixer upper project that I felt experienced to handle, after their inspection, they uncovered issues I did not notice as being as major as they were. Their knowledge of current codes, regulations and permitting requirement made me change my mind and most likely saved me thousands of dollars in hassle, permits, bringing things up to code, and undiscovered issues. Worth the money!

Very professional and got everything done very quickly in a timely manner, which was good for us as we were already in a pinch. Nick came out and looked at everything and talked it over with me to help me get everything in plan correctly and McKenzie was very professional on the phones returned my emails returned my calls. I asked Fortress to inspect my wooden porch that is in need of repair. The porch is elevated a story tall and backs up to a waterway - so there are several complexities to consider. I previously had 4 contractors bid on the repairs, but I wanted to make sure we identified everything that needed to be done. Steven the engineer, worked with me up front to be sure we were aligned on what I was expecting. The on-line scheduling and payment systems worked well. The engineer showed up on time, took all the time he needed - did not seem rushed - and did a thorough inspection. He gave me a helpful verbal "initial read" before he left. He provided a clear and detailed report in a timely manner that identified additional work that is needed and will be helpful to the contractors who will make the repairs. I am very glad I had Fortress do the inspection.
