I have had a very positive experience with Fink Engineering and Land Surveying. Our project was a land purchase that included lot line adjustments, lot line vacation, driveway easement adjustment and a survey of the 3 new and existing parcels.
From the beginning Mr. Fink was most responsive, reasonably priced and had the shortest lead time to start the job vs other surveyors I contacted. Throughout the project Mr. Fink has been reachable by phone or text, whenever he cannot answer he texts with a time you can call back. He is very pleasant to talk to and willing to answer questions..
Survey stakes on line are temporary(wood) and corner rods are at ground level making them hard to find. Mr Fink suggested I follow up after the survey and place more permanent T posts with capped white PVC pipe so it is easily visible through the woods - this worked very well.

Our experience with Fink Engineering was disappointing. While we wanted to support a local firm with a small job involving staking property corners and marking an easement, the experience left a lot to be desired in terms of punctuality/timeliness, communication, pricing, and work quality. We did not get a written, itemized estimate up front, and that was my first and biggest mistake in retrospect. Later when we were given a ballpark price over the phone, it was not clear to us what we would be receiving for that. Fink Engineering recorded the phone call (without our knowledge) and later sent it to us via email as evidence of us agreeing on a price. When it came to the actual work, we asked to be shown the staked corners but the on-site crew left without talking to us. Within 48 hours of job completion, two stakes had fallen over for being set too shallowly and the flagging had separated from another. It was frustrating to have to double check the stakes so soon after having this work done. When I brought up these concerns, the initial response read to us as defensive, but later we were able to make some headway. Although we were disappointed and take responsibility for what we could have done to help matters on the front end (e.g., asking for an itemized estimate before agreeing to anything), they did adjust the price by -9%.

An excellent experience working with Ron and his team. For a DIY residential project altering a load bearing wall, Ron provided the expertise to design our alteration and worked with the permit office to ensure an affordable and high quality project that exceeded standards. In our interactions he was professional, personable, and offered invaluable advice and insight. I will be coming back to Fink Engineering for future projects at my home. Highly recommended!

When the vacant lots adjacent to our house were set to be developed, Mr. Fink came and verified the property boundaries of our lot. He also reviewed the adjoining property to ensure the site development would not create negative drainage issues or impacts to my lot and structure. He was thorough and took the time to explain the process and the findings. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone needing survey work or structural engineering consultation.

Buyers Beware - I called Ron to setup surveying my property. Took my name and land info and said he'd get back to me with a price. Small lot in town. Nothing heard. I call back a week later and he says he doesn't remember conversation even though I reminded him he went on and on about it being in plot book 331. Liar's always show their true colors. Heading to GAY & NEEL SURVEYING next.
