Eco Performance Builders were easy to work with, experienced and competent, and provided solid advice with interest and respect, as we grappled with the best approach. Kyle, an engineer, helped us figure out the best material to meet our needs while also increasing fire resistance. After insulating our basement, walls, and attic, we are looking forward to many cozy seasons.

EPB replaced our furnace, ductwork, and attic insulation with a properly sized heat pump, excellent insulation, and sealed everything well. The system is very quiet and our house has stayed very comfortable during summer heat waves (we have not been through a winter with the system so far). The proper sizing, insulation, and sealing allow this to be a very energy efficient system. Kyle worked with me and answered a ton of question from my first inquiry to the project's completion.

The crew was excellent, professional, efficient, and clean. They answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns. Everything about the crew gave me added confidence in the quality of the work. Huge thanks to the crew lead Alberto, Jordan and Cuong on the installation, and Paul, Eddy, Alex, and Omar on the insulation team.

I highly recommend EPB. They are more expensive than other options, but by using proper Building Science they determine the right, most efficient system for your home and the quality of the work is excellent.

I had first contacted EPB when I first bought the house but at the time I was not in the position to afford any updates. I contacted Kyle again last December to implement all the suggestions they offered.
The work was completed in the time promised, their crew always cleaned up after themselves at the end of each work day, the wooden floors were always protected at the beginning of each workday. I can feel the difference in the water heater. Heating system and Air conditioner. We are very satisfied with the work done and I have been recommending the company to all my friends and acquaintances

We very much appreciated the communication from all members of the team as well. As far as the work itself, we have felt a measurable difference since the insulation and HVAC work was installed! We've noticed the house can stay in the low 70s during the recent hotter days (ie. 90s) without even turning the heat pump on!! And the entire system, from heat pump to air handler, is deathly quiet; what a difference from the previous equipment. Eco Performance was thorough, competent and responsive throughout the project. Kyle Bosworth carefully evaluated our home, including ductwork and insulation, to determine an appropriate heat pump solution. He provided a detailed bid, which, when all elements were taken into account, was in line with other bids, and answered all my questions. We were happy to have an expert who thought through what was needed. We were very impressed with Kyle Bosworth's knowledge and expertise, the care he took to evaluate the house with testing, and willingness to answer a lot of questions--which continued long after we signed the contract.

Eco was able to schedule the work when it worked for us. The work was performed competently, quickly and cleanly. The Eco insulation team, headed by Paul, was efficient and courteous, despite working in hot, tight spaces. Ryan Bosworth and the installation team were all polite, hard-working, and competent, and the work moved quickly. If asked, they took the time to explain what they were doing and how the system worked. Ryan followed up with respect to the Fujitsu control panel that did not work properly, and replaced it. We are very happy with our new heat pump for heating, and look forward to having it next summer for cooling.

When replacing a gas furnace with a heat pump, please be aware that costs on the Internet for heat pump equipment alone are not representative of the true cost. The actual cost will depend on your home. For example, our old asbetos-wrapped ducts needed to be replaced. Our 1920 walls had no insulation, which is needed to really improve how it feels inside, and the attic insulation was old and thin. In our home, we had to replace knob & tube wiring to allow insulation to be pumped in the walls. Some HVAC companies will give a bid to install a heat pump, perhaps with ducts, but will not assess your home's other needs. Eco Performance provided a comprehensive analysis from which we could make an informed decision.

I recently worked with Eco Performance Builders who installed heat pumps in my home in the Oakland hills. Given the configuration of my home it was necessary to install two separate heat pump units, as well as two new duct systems.

I was very impressed with the comprehensive way that the EPB staff approached this project, working to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of these new heating/cooling systems while factoring in some unique facets of my home. The planners were very knowledgeable about these systems and did a good job explaining them to me.

I was equally impressed with the EPB crew who did the installation of the new systems. They were very hard working, efficient and congenial. I was especially impressed with the way that the onsite project manager coordinated the different aspects of the installation as he kept the project moving along. The project was completed within the projected timeline.

I am very pleased with the new systems. With both the heating and cooling, they are very quiet and throw off subtle but comfortable air.

Eco Performance Builders had been recommended to me as a company who were leaders and experts in the area of this energy-efficient approach to heating and cooling. The company exceeded my expectations in how they handled this project and I would highly recommend EPB to others.

Eco Performance Builders did an excellent job of assisting me to replace my old heater in Livermore, Calif and add air conditioning. They conducted an energy assessment which provided the information required to correctly size units and infrastructure required to heat and cool the home. Using the information from the audit they recommended several options I could choose from and spent time discussing the pros and cons of each choice. Once I made my choices Eco Performance Builders obtained all the permits and facilitated the rebates I was eligible for. I lived in the home for 30 years with two heater replacements. It was never comfortable despite putting in double paned windows. The Eco Performance Builders solution to heating and cooling my home has greatly increased the comfort level and we are all very pleased. The work was done quickly and efficiently and all work areas were left clean and in order.
