We just completed a 4-month renovation with Dunros and couldn't be happier. We worked with Pat and have only wonderful things to say about the experience. He was always kind, flexible, and creative in his solutions to our tricky kitchen/dining room renovation. He managed to install beams below the floor that weren't there (as they should have been) when we opened up the floor. His team was always on time and courteous, and talking to the subcontractors (plumber, electrician, floor installation) you quickly understood they had been working together for years and had a great relationship. Pat is trustworthy and so is his team. He was very good about staying in budget and managing the twists and turns that come with any project.

Another thing: our cabinet dealer was terrible, and Pat did everything to work around the problems and delays we had as a result of that bad choice. When we couldn't get replacement parts from the cabinet manufacturer in time, Pat managed to make the parts out of what we had and a lot of hard work. All this was so appreciated because we don't know what we would have done otherwise. I also want to say that Pat is a real perfectionist — even more than we are, and it's our home he was working on! He always strived to make everything perfect, and a couple of times we had to tell him that we can't see the minor imperfection he noticed and tasked himself with fixing.

Pricing was always fair and invoiced clearly. In some cases the amount ended up less than the estimate, which I have never seen before working with contractors.

A friend recommended Dunros Construction after I had talked to 5 contractors (three literally disappeared and stopped all communication and one gave me an estimate but it wasn't line item and didn't explain things). Ronan gave me a line item bid and explained everything clearly. He is very personable, kind and was in constant communication. There were many walk throughs as the job was done with plumbing and electrical. The electrician also explained what they did as the house needed all new wiring. Ronan always asked for my feedback and if I was happy as each task was done. His workers were professional and also explained what they were doing if I stopped in to check.

He also gave me ideas to save money as this property would be used for a rental and not my primary residence and I wasn't flipping the house. Renters tend to have more wear and tear so high end finishes or custom made cabinets that would work in a primary home weren't recommended for rentals so I went with in-stock countertops and cabinets and vanities. I had considered painting the interior myself to try to save money but decided to have him do the job. The walls and ceilings look amazing. The tile work in the bathrooms look great. The kitchen was opened up and is light and bright.

I've recommended Dunros to friends and family and would definitely use them again. Ronan's recommendations for people to do exterior painting, garage door replacement, metal iron gate were also great.

Ronan and his crew remodeled our au pair suite and three of our five bedrooms on our top floor. They were the consummate professionals -- not only was the job done in a timely fashion but also Ronan was precise with budgeting the project, including add-ons that we made along the way. Each subcontractor was excellent in their trade and respectful of our house -- sometimes, I would not even know they were working because they were quiet and gracious. Ronan was readily available for any hiccups that came up and quickly and efficiently got things done. We are extraordinarily happy with our results and would heartily recommend them.

We used Dunros Construction for some outside repair work and for construction of a new deck in our backyard. Not only did the entire team do top-notch work on the project, they were always on time and extremely courteous and considerate.

Pat was extremely creative, collaborative and responsive with the design of the project.

Overall, it was the type of construction project that you just don't believe is possible: on budget, on time and completely professional throughout.

We just completed a repair project with Dunros Construction and wanted to share our experience.
We had a pipe burst in the condo above ours which sent gallons of water into our kitchen and den. We had to replace the walls and ceilings in both rooms which required removing kitchen cabinets, relocating some major appliances and possibly pulling out some floor to ceiling built in bookshelves in the den.
Dunros came to us as a recommendation from a contractor we trust from a prior job who was unavailable. We are very pleased with the overall experience and would hire Dunros for any project that we ‘plan’ to tackle in the future.
Pat was our point person and he was just great to work with throughout the project (4 weeks). From the initial scoping of the project he was solution oriented, flexible and practical. He dealt with our insurance adjuster and explained how he arrived at the quote he provided. He laid out the plan for each room and was great about status updates and project planning. Even when Pat was away for a few days, his partner, Ronan, stepped in and the progress never stopped.
Whenever you tear apart something you always find things that were unexpected. This happened a couple times with the plumbing. Pat explained what had happened and his plumbing subcontractor was there to fix it. When you hire a general contractor you are somewhat at the mercy of their ability to manage, and the overall competency of, the subcontracting teams. Pat was clearly in partnership with his subs and that they had been working together for a long time. These relationships translate into great work and jobs that finish on time.
As we hadn’t planned on a pipe bursting upstairs, we weren’t in a place to complete a full remodel of the kitchen. We were able to save our cabinets that we love and we didn’t have to pull out the built in bookshelves. Our appliances, although quite old, were temporarily moved and reconnected and not thrown in the garbage. It was appreciated that Pat wasn’t a person that just wanted to scrap everything and start with new stuff.
Pat also managed his team well. Orlando, Nety, Juan, etc.. were here promptly at 8am, left the place as clean as was realistic and left at 5pm. Everyone wore a mask at all times.
One thing to keep in mind, if you haven’t completed a project like this before is the dust. This is not a reflection on the Dunros team. They did a great job in sealing off the rooms (and covering the floors) where they work was but the sheetrock, countertops, paint particles get everywhere. If you have allergies or are just sensitive to dust, you will have to do a deep clean before you put all your stuff back.
We made some small upgrades to the kitchen and Pat was able to provide some good recommendations. I still find it amazing that Pat’s team pulled our kitchen apart and put it back together and it looks even better.

We selected Dunros Construction for our outdoor repair & replace project on a very old deck in the garden area. Pat Bolger came out and gave us a very competitive bid with the understanding it could be more depending on what is discovered on demolition. This was understandable and appreciated his honesty. He was very engaging, courteous, friendly and not intimidating at all. He listened very carefully to our concerns, expectations and what we were hoping for in a final product.
The team he assembled for the project were always on time and very pleasant to have on the premises. Pat checked in every day to see how the progress was going and to keep the crew informed of our concerns and communicated ongoing expectations on our part. He was always accomodating and helpful.
The project finished within the quoted time frame with quality results. The construction crew were precise and the attention to detail was remarkable.
We sincerely recommend Dunros Construction and will definitely have them back for any future projects.

Dunros came highly recommended by two of our neighbors who used them to do renovations in their homes. We had some water damage that resulted from a faulty toilet valve in our half bathroom. Pat and his team re-did the tiling that had to be dug up and repaired and painted the baseboards. We were so happy with Pat's team that we had them do some additional painting in the house and re-wire some lights in our living room.

Pat is a pleasure to work with. He almost always answers his phone and if he misses you, he calls back promptly. Because our insurance company was covering the cost of the work he was even very diligent in connecting with our claims professional and answering all of his questions.

Pat really cared about the quality of work his team did and was careful to inspect it and re-do anything that he felt was not up to standard. I highly recommend Pat and will definitely use his team for any other work in the future.

Their estimates were honest, and they told us when they may not be the best choice for the work we wanted.
