I loved it when I first came here. Then I realized how little is actually done for the residents here. Especially the elderly residents. After being here about a year. I was infested with bugs. I was under a doctor's care with bites and ended up having to throw away a new couch because of all the bugs nesting in it. This was after my apartment was treated twice by an exterminator. Months later after all of that happened another exterminator came in. The same exterminator company but a different person. I never saw any more bugs. After that I wondered if the first man did any kind of spraying and "treatment" for the bugs at all. Afterwards, I found out that the neighbor next to me had the same bugs in her place but doesn't admit it to management. Because of that problem I was out of a new couch that I had bought 6 months before the problem started because there was so many in the couch.
The second problem I had was last summer when I requested the carpet be taken out because of allergies and breathing problems. The day that it was going to be done, I tried calling someone to find out why they didn't show up. Management and maintenance was not here but I knew I could leave a message. At the end of the day someone finally showed up to do the job. The living room/kitchen area was done. Carpet was taken up and vinyl flooring put down. The bedroom carpet was taken up only to be replaced by carpet again. That has never been corrected. Also after the workers left, I noticed spots on the wall and on some clothes I had hanging in my bedroom and even on the ceiling. When I looked closer, I realized it was cement! They use cement or cement-looking putty on the backside of the flooring.
More recently I asked again about having the ducts cleaned. I've requested it before and nothing has ever been done before. I requested it after mold was found in other apartments in the ducts. There was a few changes in managers so now that we have a new manager I decided to request it again. Another reason I requested it again was because I found black mold on my mattress. Once again, a fairly new mattress. I bought it 3 years ago.
No one is reimbursing me for the things I've paid good money for and can't replace. No one is fixing the problems around here either. Not even the smaller problems and half of the time the maintenance or the manager is ever here.

I do not recommend this place. Can not get anyone to return calls or email you back. Most screwed up website I have ever seen. Tells you everything but what potential renters or ones already are renters want to know.

This company is nothing. A total "slumlord" operation with no concern for its residents or for common decency. Run very fast to get away from anything they are involved in.

I applied for a one bedroom apartment in Virginia. I paid the application fee, and waited one year. I received a call from management that I needed to pay the application fee again to remain on the waiting list. I did not pay it again, so I was taken off the list. A decade later, I tried again. This time, I did not need to pay the application fee until I was in the top 3 on the waiting list. I payed the fee for the background check as quickly as possible. After a couple of weeks, I was mailed a denial letter due to failing the background check, and having limited credit history. My charge was minor, and from 10 years ago, and my credit score is over 700, and goes back to 2012. I have never been late on a rental payment in my life, and have never been evicted. I would have preferred my application was turned down at the beginning when I disclosed all of this information, rather than waiting years and paying fees and having my credit slightly reduced due to the hard pull on my credit report. I thought background checks only went back 7 years? This is a low income facility, so what exactly do they expect? I'm very disappointed. Anyway, I'm done trying to rent from other people, and am trying to buy my own home.

Be careful of the information you provide to these people, They are just looking for leads to sell services and get contractor work. Thier website said they offered assistance and when given my information no mention was made of those services but only contacting my landlord about repairs to my apartment. I asked them to not contact me or my landlord and to remove any information obtained from me from thier records, we will see how they proceed.

I'm renting a 2 bedroom apartment from them my health became worse and I live on the second floor so my doctor wrote me a letter stating that it was detrimental to my health to move to a bottom floor apartment and that was back in Nov I'm still waiting my landlord had me a bottom floor apartment but she rented out to someone else so I get put to the side and I still haven't gotten a bottom floor. The people at chp hmain office won't call me back won't do anything about it so I'm being discriminated against or something so I'm going to get a lawyer and get ahold of the local news channels around here and maybe they can find out something out

This company owns an apartment complex. They take forever to return security deposits to former tenants. And then when they do return the security deposit (eventually and after much follow up from the former tenant), they withhold part/partial with no explanation. They do shady business and I would not recommend living on their properties. Disappointing.

I am interested in renting at Grissom Lane Apts. I have called and left messages many times and have never been called back. How can I talk to someone and get on a waiting list? I am a senior.
