I wholeheartedly do not recommend this company!!! No integrity, no attention to detail, no quality control and no care! My home was repeatedly damaged during a remodel. Some things were fixed while others weren’t fixed at all. I had to hire independent companies to prove that certain items were damaged by Coleman Construction in order for them to fix the issues to their liking, not mine. For instance, my doorbell was damaged during the remodel but fixing it correctly cost too much so it was just rigged up to partially work. And I am in the process of having my disposal fixed because they did not reinstall it properly. Imagine that! You get work done on your home to improve it yet you’re left with things to fix that were working perfectly fine before the work began.

In addition, it took 20 weeks to complete an 8 week job yet they were demanding “progess” payments based on the 8 week timeline. Clearly, the progress on the house did not match frequency of the payments but that didn’t stop them from requesting payments, which started a week early might I add. And only one concession was given despite all of the money I spent for housing, food, storage, and daily expenses due to the extension of the timeline.

There were multiple delays for which I was blamed despite materials being on site and there being no obvious reasons for the delays. Poor organization, management and communication were the true culprits for the abounding delays but no one wanted to take accountability. Materials had to be reordered numerous times even though measurements were supposedly taken upfront. And I was not made aware of quite a few of the reorders. These charges came as a compete surprise when I received the updated budget towards the end of the job.

Several projects were so sloppily completed that they had to be redone. Even then, the quality of work on some of the projects is still not what you’d expect from a professional company. Materials were installed incorrectly or not at all. And getting them to correct these mistakes almost took an act of congress. The installation of flooring with new base boards was the worst of all. There are cracked and unpainted baseboards. Gaps and spacing in the flooring. Again, not what you’d expect from professionals.

On a few to many occasions, I was talked to very harshly by project managers for questioning certain things in an attempt to ensure things were being done correctly and on time. There were insinuations of me hiding materials when the correct materials weren’t installed. I should have known something was not up to par when the owner did not want to rewrite the contract after changes were made, well before the work started. He said he’d tell the guys about the changes which obviously did not happen.

And after all of this, Coleman Construction wants a final payment! Bottom line, I do not recommend this company!
