Daniel Castor was recommended to our family by his former firm head, Ken Linsteadt. We hoped to renovate a cherished home. Daniel quickly understood the project goals and presented designs sympathetic with the original house. It was important to me that we hire a team who saw past decades of neglect and appreciated the structure's fundamental beauty.

We sincerely feel lucky that Daniel was instantly enthusiastic; capable of orienting the house's influences in Big Sur '70s and had conviction about how to approach seamless modernization. He creatively proposed alternatives when we asked for them, but also knew when to firmly stick with a concept - which gave us great comfort in his expertise and taste. On several occasions he defended the quirky originality of our beloved home against suggestions by the interior decorator to change architectural elements.

He's an intelligent professional with clear vision, and we plan to hire him again in future projects.

He was able to help design a thoughtful and detailed blueprint for what we wanted our dream home to encompass. This was no easy task as our plot of land is on a slope and very irregular in shape. Daniel is also very familiar in working with Larkspur City Planning (and other municipalities) which helped expedite our project and get answers quickly.
