This is not a mean-spirited review. I just don't want to see anyone else deal with the stress I've been put through. I'm a Fauquier County native, business owner & Pastor who personally thought I knew Jim Carson the owner. Jim has been around a long time, and I like him as a person. I hired his firm to provide me a major site plan to build a church in Marshall VA where I currently Pastor. Sadly, it's cost me 4 times the amount he agreed to and I'm currently on my 9th modification to the so-called "approved plan" he put his engineer stamp on. Now we are having major issues with finalizing the ADA sidewalks and parking locations. Jim nor his employees will now return calls, text, emails, etc. If you need anything done that requires an engineer approved drawing, I absolutely do not recommend using his company. Employees make or break a company and unfortunately several of Jim's employees are just grossly incompetent to say the least. I plan on pursuing this further with our legal counsel.

I hired Carson for a special exception plat and minor site plan. I have now paid out thousands of dollars to them and they have not communicated with me on the final edits required by the county in almost three weeks. They have always been slow to respond but this is ridiculous. I have called multiple times and emailed them numerous times. Only once did I hear back from the owner saying that we needed to have a serious conversation and then nothing. As a result, I missed my initial response deadline with the county and was forced to officially request an extension. If you are in need of reliable/quality work, you will need to look elsewhere. Carson and team have no apparent interest in customer service.

"Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by stupidity" - with Carson Land Consultants, you can be sure it's both. The single worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. If I can save any one person the stress caused by their incompetence, this review will be well worth it.
