I am so pleased with Carleton and Sons! Not only did they take our yard from an apocalyptic wasteland to a drought tolerant oasis, but they also did it in 5 days and UNDER BUDGET! Which I should add, was very tight. I love that they are a family owned business and they source their plants from their families nursery as well. Bob and his sons were incredibly knowledgeable and hard working. 10/10 would recommend!

Bob, Joey and Scotty recently completed work on our landscaping project and we couldn't be more pleased with the results! They have transformed our yard into an oasis we'll enjoy for years to come.

Bob and his sons are very artistic and creative. While we had a general idea of what we wanted (flagstone patio, pergola, water feature, plants, but no lawn), they offered great suggestions and helped us develop our plan into something truly special. They worked to incorporate existing mossy lava rocks and other sentimental items we wanted to include. Indicating our desire for year-round color, we relied on Bob for plant selection and were not disappointed - his choices look great now (late January) and will continue to add beauty as they mature and bloom, attracting birds and butterflies to our yard.

As our design plan was rather fluid, the 'time and materials' plan Bob proposed worked very well for us. We met each Friday to review the week's work, settle-up payment and plan for the next week; this allowed us good control of our project budget.

Bob and his sons possess a very strong work ethic; they chose to work on some pretty nasty wintry days when we certainly didn't expect them to. In addition to being hardworking and reliable, they rightfully take pride in the high quality of their work; they are professional, polite and just genuinely nice people!

We were receiving compliments on the work being done even before it was finished, and continue to receive them. We highly recommend Carleton & Sons for your landscaping needs!

UPDATE - Bob and his sons used over 200 plants on our project; just two (2) of the plants weren't doing well and Bob promptly came out and replaced them!

I can’t say enough good things about Bob, Joey and Scottie. Talented, hardworking, consciences, creative, very exacting, and just plain good people. They are making my dream backyard into a reality. It started out as just two retaining walls, a bunch of dirt and gravel, and a huge stretch of falling down fences. They have installed all new fencing, a flagstone patio, a deck, and a huge pergola. And a lattice fence and gate that is truly a work of art. All so well-constructed, but that gate is so well made it will likely last forever! In addition, a third moss rock retaining wall to match the existing two in the front yard, turning a useless slope into a huge new planting area. A lot of work all the way around. Bob often suggested ways to economize, in order to get the most out of every dollar. He had lots of great ideas, and listened to my ideas and then executed a beautiful combination of both. I was very reticent to use a time and materials plan instead of a flat bid. Bob convinced me it was the better way to go, and I’m glad I did. There is no slaking off, they are working all the time, and it allowed us to be fluid with material choices. We’ve completed just the hardscape so far. Next up is a water feature and all the greenery for both the front and back yards. Bob is so knowledgeable about plants, design elements and growing conditions, I know it’s going to be great. I can’t wait to see the finished product! I’ll post more photos when that’s done too.

Wow, so much to share about this company....first off, Carleton and Sons Landscaping found us! We purchased a home near Jacksonville, Or in the country and began a major remodel in 2009, that's when I started to see they're flyers on our doorstep. Our remodel took 7 years total but for the first 5 years every now and then there was another flyer from this company. Such dedication to acquire our business. One day I was out front of our home when Bob Carlton arrived and instantly I knew he was the company we would use. His fun personality, kindness, Knowledge and dedication sold us! From start to finish what an amazing experience. Always here when they said they would be, always kind and cleaned up everyday before they left. We asked to have our property (2 acres) look like a park and it does! We have hosted many large gatherings and everyone always comments about how beautiful and park like our property is. A company well worth the investment! After a 7 year major remodel and many workers in and out of our lives, some shine more than others and Carlton and Sons was definitely one who SHINED! Thank you Carleton and Sons for such a fabulous experience! We highly recommend and we Love, Love, Love our beautiful park :)).

I got myself in over my head with a brick pathway I was constructing. Carlton landscaping bailed me out, worked with the materials I had already and built a beautiful pathway on my side yard, exactly how I envisioned. His crew was great, very professional and respectful, and we’re very sweet when my daughter came out with some capri suns for them in the heat of the day.
We will use them for future projects and would recommend them to others.

These guys are great and actually guarantee their work. We had a small problem with the drip system and they were here the morning after we called. They went above and beyond to help me add to the drip system and answered all my questions so I can do my own drip system in my front yard. I can't recommend them highly enough! 10 stars ⭐

My front yard looks fantastic. From the grass, bushes and old plant removal to custom made fountain. Thanks to the weather they finished early. Bob and his sons were very easy to work with and the clean up everyday was wonderful. All the plants are doing well so far except one tree which he will replace if it doesn't start to bloom.
