Buttrick Projects did two major renovations on our house, a 1920s Tudor designed by a noted Bay Area architect. A full kitchen and bath renovation was followed by an extensive remodel of our 2nd floor 10 years later. We have been, and continue to be, extremely pleased with the results. Jerome's design vision and attention to detail are impressive. He struck a fine balance of modernizing our home while keeping with the traditional Tudor 1920s aesthetic. The firm was responsive to our thoughts and extremely professional in their execution. I highly recommend them.

I worked with Jerome and Ivor on an extensive remodel of my 1930's English Tutor style home. The key aspect of the project was to modernize the flow and function while staying in tune with the old-world aesthetic nature of the original home. Buttrick Projects accomplished this beautifully. We finished with landscaping the backyard which included adding a pool. The bronze water feature Jerome designed added the beauty and sound of falling water. BP A+D guides, calibrates, listens, and translates the vision of their clients impeccably.

A number of years ago, I had the opportunity to work with Jerome Buttrick on the renovation of a classic, now landmarked house in Berkeley designed by William Wurster. At the time, I was impressed by how aware and sensitive Buttrick was to the key elements that make the house an icon of the "second generation Bay Area tradition." We modernized the open plan design and strong indoor/outdoor relationships to accommodate a more contemporary functional kitchen and service area of Wurster's first "shed roof house." As a friend and admirer of Buttrick's talent I have kept up with his ongoing architectural projects. I am increasingly impressed with his deepening sensitivity to the evolving Bay Area aesthetic and his skill in moving that aesthetic into the future. I believe that he, with a few other architects practicing in the region, are designing projects that can be said to define the third generation of Bay Area Architecture. Many of his residential projects have an urban character responsive to the contemporary generation of residents that also maintains connectivity with the strong geography and landscape of the region. They are definitive projects of the present and near future.
