You need to look into the property management companies i.e. Landmark Property Management that is supposed to take care of Ridgecrest! They are awful and claiming rent not paid when resident has written receipt and records. Also stating that not paying a full month is partial payment when only days behind on the current month.

It's a shame that when I used to live at this place 9 years ago I even used to groundskeeper in landscape with one other person by ourselves doing the whole properties not to mention help build some of the new properties helped with this community and this is how I get treated. there once was a minor sitting on my back porch doing drugs and drinking I asked them to leave and they tell the neighbor that I threaten them and then I had a bunch of people try to jump me nothing happened but an argument nothing else & this place has charged me for trespassing over something that happened 9 years ago and it didn't even end in a violent altercation nor did I get charged for anything and they still say that I am not allowed back on the property over something that small of an incident. I just don't think it's right especially when they have had numerous people and ones that were present at that moment of the incident has asked about it and I have wrote nine letters within 9 years

I was a single mom in 2008 and applied for section 8. I was working, but only making $6.00 an hour. I was only on the waiting list 3 months when I found a house that would accept section 8. The people in this agency were amazing and helped me every step of the way. For 7 years I saved every penny I could and all of my income tax refunds. A lady at the agency name Donna Cato would come inspect my house every year and was so respectful and helpful.
I was promoted at my job in 2011 and finally in 2013 I had saved enough money for a down payment on a home. With the help of People Incorporated, I repaired all my credit problems and along with my Veteran’s home loan , I purchased my own house and still live in it now. Without the help of the section 8 program and the awesome people in this office, I would never have been able to achieve the dream of home ownership.

Moved here from D.C. Stayed with housing for 2 years before upgrading to a house. While being at Johnson Court i dealt with packages being stolen off my porch, roaches and a bunch of noise. Reported my stolen stuff and nothing was done about it because they don't have working cameras on the property. Finally moved out and before i left, i emptied the apartment (besides leaving a heavy dresser i could'nt get down the stairs because of my hip) and cleaned as best i could. Moved out on 10/1 which was a friday. Turned my keys in that week and they charged me over $100 for that, utilities because they bill 2 months behind and clean up fee cus the maintenance men said the fridge and stove was dirty.. 😒🙄 stoves naturally stain with grease and the fridge was emptied at least. I did the best i could compared to how other apartments look over there ( A HOT MESS)!! When i moved in they did'nt bother to make sure the place was sparkling clean. It was dead roaches in there (some alive) and not how a apartment should look for a new tenant! My uncle and I were on our hands and knees bleaching and sweepin roaches. The nerve of yall to even send a bill to collections so it would hit my state refund! Nobody bothered to reach out after i moved out to make me aware of the charges. 🗣 WOULD'nt RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!!!!!!

I've been trying to get help for two yrs now . Since I first applied they have barred me for no reason at all. Mark Redman has screamed in my face . Then I get a paper that said I'd finally come up for housing and they still will not help me . They are the worst ppl I've ever had to deal with they show nothing but discrimination and mess ppl over I would not recommend them for anything . Go to ppls Inc they are much better

Im a disabled amputee. I lost everything I own at the same time I lost my leg. I was couch hopping for a year then I applied for housing with Bristol VA housing and redevelopment. They did everything they could to get me an apartment before Christmas and they succeeded. It was a true Life Christmas miracle. I am forever grateful indeed. Thank you, Jennifer and Greg ,the whole staff was kind professional and empathetic. Blessings. There are good people and miracles do happen. John R Tuell

This place is a joke! They say that they are here to help you but in reality they are not it has turned into a money racket. I am so sick of the way they treat you . They are all so rude and make you feel lower than low.

I wouldn't advise anyone to transfer your Sec 8 voucher to this particular Sec 8 office as I had exceedingly misfortune while trying to contact my Sec 8 worker to have her transfer my Sec 8 voucher to Charlotte, NC close to the entire month of June, 2011. My son nearly had a nervous breakdown at the end of June plus I also was suffering high stress while staying in a motel the entire month of June, 2011. She just could not be gotten a hold of and so the 1st of July, 2011 we had to backtrack back to Bristol, VA to see her. We ended up going back to square 1 to IL. Due to her total uncaring and un-helpfulness and stating that it was not her job to be concerned about us after we'd left Bristol to stay in a motel, we did not get to relocate to Charlotte, NC. And as a result both of us especially me have been miserable these past more then 5 year period. I have become extremely and chronically depressed due to this inept and cold hearted Sec 8 case worker. The entire office of staff was probably behind her sabotaging our relocation attempt. They care nothing for a person's happiness and wellbeing. Another thing about the Bristol, VA Sec 8 office is that unless they have changed at the time I lived there they had stupid, unhelpful rules for the Sec 8 clients. You had to have your landlord tenant papers in by the 20th of the month in order for the landlord to be paid starting on the 1st of the next month. Therefore if you turned your papers in on the 21st of the month then the landlord would not receive any rent payment until the 1st of the month following the very next month. If you want your voucher transferred to another city you'd better make sure you have it sent before you leave Bristol. And also about porting to another city, Bristol said it was against their rules to fax your papers to that cities Sec 8 office. They said they would only mail it - snail mail it (regular US postal service mail delivery). But then for some reason when I made the terrible mistake of transferring back to IL (square 1) she (my worker) said she would email my voucher. Yet she wouldn't email it when I tried going to NC. Talk about being unhelpful and not trying to get you into housing asap and also to where you really want to port to. I'm writing this because over 5 years later I'm still in an unhappy place and not where I want to be living. Should I not gripe? And the difficulties are not just with this housing authority Sec 8 but I've experienced them with other Sec offices as well.
