I am a property owner and have to submit a 1 star review here after three years of utilizing Boomtown.

Owners should not pursue the model Boomtown uses which is where the property manager charges a monthly fee regardless of whether a new tenant takes residence. In addition to the monthly fee you will pay a tenant discovery fee. As an owner, you are just wasting money with this model. Instead, pursue a property manager where you pay ONLY a tenant discovery fee. Most of these types of property managers will STILL assist you with finding contractors since they care about maintaining relationship with you for subsequent business (next tenant and so on).

By following the preferred model you will also avoid price gouging by the contractors that are in bed with Boomtown. Additionally, Boomtown (or other property managers following the less preferred model from an owner perspective) has less incentive to assist the owner with new tenants based on increased market value of the home, since they are already receiving passive monthly revenue with no or low value work in return to the owner. So you risk losing out on rent increase ESPECIALLY if you sign a lease for multiple years which Boomtown will try to push based on the passive income they receive.

Finally, early on Boomtown attempted to hide in their financials $1531 that was challenging to a non-accountant to ascertain. I was able to figure it out and had to plea to get the money back. I did receive the money back finally, but the owner stated: “mistakes happen and i expect there will be more”. I should have made the switch after year one, but failed based on personal circumstances. It was easier for me at the time to just continue with the model. Sometimes you just don’t know what you don’t know and I fell victim to this. Don’t be a victim to this model!!! Shop around.

The Boomtown staff are all very kind and helpful, and are always quick to reply when I reach out regarding my rental. They also have good maintenance contractors that are very professional and friendly. I have enjoyed renting with Boomtown so far.

Boomtown handled our rental property for almost 7 years. The leasing process was always easy and John was informative in his explanations about rental rates vs. vacancies and maximizing cash flow for the property. During vacancies, suggestions were made about improvements that would increase the property's appeal. While the property was leased, Boomtown was always quick to handle resident concerns like broken appliances, etc. Being out of state, it gave my wife and I peace of mind to know that our property was being well managed. We were very happy with our experience!

I am very pleased with all the staff at Boomtown for their professionalism, responsiveness and ease of working with. I have been using a bigger and better staffed professional property management company for several years for another property but the experience wasn't as great as with the Boomtown. From my initial phone call with John to working with Carrie on getting the needed repairs done to talking to Katie about what my needs are and getting the tenants in, the whole process with very enjoyable and pleasant. What I really liked is that John gave me great ideas on how to save money on renovations and I would recommend to start talking to him and Carrie early on and asking them for ideas and their contractors.
I am looking forward to working with Boomtown for years to come as they manage my house and would love to bring them more business because they are great all-around. This is the property management firm that I will certainly recommend to friends and co-workers!

Boomtown Inc…. more like “Explosion”town Inc. I have never dealt with a friendlier, more experienced team in my life. Being a military member/veteran I required a property team who is professional and goes above and beyond for their customers, Boomtown Inc. did just that.
Let’s start with Katie, she has been professional, friendly, accommodating, and responsive. My small family & I could not have gotten as far as we have so quickly without her assistance in our rental. She keeps the requests of an ever changing military schedule her top priority by how she has aided the requests for my family and I. She is an exceptional asset to anyone requiring positive, proactive assistance through a rental agency.
John, the chief executive of Boomtown. This man is a veteran himself and he understood the needs and requirements to create a military friendly experience in renting. He is down to earth and very knowledgeable. He was kind to our (overactive) daughter when showing us homes and made my wife very comfortable to be in business with this gentleman.
I cannot give enough stars to this team to show my gratitude for the most simplistic and quick rental process.
