Had to clean the carpet and apartment myself. I think they aired the apartment out before I looked at it because I didn't smell the strong smell of cat pee until after I had moved in. When I cleaned the closet where most of the smell was coming from there was a lot of cat litter I had vacuumed up.

Extremely overpriced. I pay over two grand for a one bedroom, small apartment. The maintenance just blows debris and trash into my patio every morning despite the emails I’ve sent. The dumpsters are disgusting and always overflowing, and better yet I have to pay over 100 dollars a month for that. Half of the appliances break and most were shot when I moved in.

Horrible conditions, Hidden figures, 1 bedroom box,I had to clean the unit myself.
Some kind bugs are everywhere.
You don't pay a set rent. Can't wait to find a place to live for real.
Not to mention there's a pool on the property that is said to be being refurbished however no work is being done but the price of living here reflects the amenities the website lies about. They also make you park way away from your unit, saying it is for safety precautions? But for the last 4 days the security gate has been left open for any random person to enter the property.

I’ve only been here for 4 weeks.

First, the whole “smoking in units only” through me off because for families with babies & kids plus NON smokers, are unaware if the units they are moving in to, have been smoked in. Disgusting- coming from a smoker. Smoking should be outside the units. That should change.
My unit was NOT ready on Move In Day. Lots of repairs needed to happen - not everything was done. Did NOT like the fact I could not see the unit until Move In Day even though I paid a Holding Deposit two in a half weeks PRIOR. That should change. I think the units need a major upgrade for the price most people are paying. The patios are too open where other people’s animals or wild animals can come into the patios. They should come closed off with a gate - however, I like the idea that everyone can make shift their gates to block unwanted visitors. The entry way into the units were poorly designed IMO. Also, the front door lock is a terrible idea- a dead bolt won’t stop an intruder.
The pool/hot tub needs more upkeep. Where is the net to scoop out the debris & bugs? Gross. But no one cares on HOT days.
The gates to come IN & OUT of the community need a SERIOUS overhaul. This can’t be considered a safe gated community if the gates are OPEN all day/night long - also, when the exiting gate is locked & doesn’t open, this creates a safety hazard in the event of an emergency. Fix it. I was very excited to move in & be apart of the community until these issues. I hope things get better. I can say I do see good quality around the community ( tenants/ neighbors are friendly) & I’m just glad to no longer be living at the place across town. So thank you for that.
Because of the above issues, I deducted 3 stars. I truly expected more from Blue Rock Village.

ETA - the “work orders” for maintenance requests do NOT do well with those who work long hours and night shifts. Do them yourself if you can! Otherwise, phone & email tag is what will occur!! Waste of everyone and their time.

For the amount of the rent, it badly needs to be updated. Tenants should be notified of projects around the property such as, swimming pool renovations, and lighting through out no working. This is a safety hazard. Along with updated appliances that work properly.
It should be against the law to show an apartment that has been totally updated to potential tenants, knowing that is not what you get up on movie in. This should be classified as false advertising. Yeah one would say just move, but in reality, not everyone can afford to just pack up and move.

I see the complaints from other tenants, other than my own kids making noise, I’ve had a great experience thus far. The tenants are great, the front office are prompt in responses, the whole experience overall has been welcoming and comforting. I had maybe one “bad” experience, and that’s when my phone wasn’t able to open the entrance gate by pressing the numbers, but that was minor and the issue got fixed QUICKLY! This is my first apartment after being separated and divorced and I haven’t had any issues.

I'm super grateful to my apartment complex, Blue Rock Village, and the kind and competent people who manage it! I just had to call after hours maintenance to have them come snake my toilet cuz I couldn't plunge it to get it to drain and they came in like 20 minutes! No charge, even at night, the service is a part of the rent I pay. I'm grateful to the system, to the kind maintenance man who showed up speedily at such an hour and quickly fixed it (shout out to Luis for bein' a hero) and I'm grateful to living in the future! Modern life has so much benevolence to be thankful for.

Great response time knowledgeable service technician fixed the issue quickly. Which was good as I had family members in from out of town and they remarked how fast and efficient the service was completed. Thank you
