When my wife and I first built our house in 2001, we did not think about the ADA. At the age of 28, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and ended up being wheelchair ridden. I was getting ready to do an ADA addition + remodel to my home (a few years ago) because all of the bedrooms in my home are located upstairs or downstairs; the main level of the home is living/visiting space only. The deck to my house is out a door & down 7 stairs. Thus BA architects – I saw the great work & pride BA Architects designs with and my wife and I decided to go with them.
Not only was Brennen thoughtful and aware of all needs in the home, but he made it “a functional space” for my family and I to live in – it became an open concept design which incorporated the deck moving up proximally 4 feet, flush with the main level of the home. I would like to say, they do their research before & during the process to make it fit for specific needs. Thank you BA architects.
