I hired this company to evaluate my front porch and back deck. The engineer Greg initially came across as friendly if not a bit too interested in asking about the area I lived in. The evaluation was not entirely what I expected but seemed competent. To my surprise when I received the report it was basically a religious manifesto. When I called the company to discuss it, I was basically brushed off, had to call back myself before receiving a a "it wasn't intended for you" with no apology. That alone told me that they absolutely intended to disseminate this propaganda . See below for snippets of this incredibly long email of zealotry. Buyer Beware.

After reading the other reviews, I selected AREA Engineering to perform an inspection of our home that sustained damages from a tornado - SO GLAD I DID!! Greg went through our home to review the damaged areas we pointed out, but he also provided awareness of some additional areas we were not aware of. He was pleasant, and professional, proving himself to be a subject matter expert in structural engineering. Now that we have received the report from AREA Engineering, we can ensure our home will be restored to a more secure condition since we know more of what needs to be done. Thanks Greg!!

I have to say that if you are looking for a fair and detailed structural engineer please consider this company. We have gone above and beyond to make sure that we completed our home renovation in a safe and legal manner. We started with Greg and he stuck with us through the whole tawdry process with a very unprofessional and unethical general contractor who had not adhered to the specifications of the engineering report or pulled all the required permits for our job. He is a genuinely honorable man and that is hard to find these days! I highly recommend his company, he and his wife are a great team.

If you're looking for a trustworthy engineer, Area Engineering should be your first call. I've worked with Greg on two issues and both times he was excellent. He also has a background in construction, so that's helpful since most engineers don't have that experience. Each time he was patient and explained complex issues thoroughly and in an easy to understand manner. Hire them now.

I used this company twice. They are very Professional and has the consumer best intrest. I needed a structural engineer after a car hit my building. The completed report was very through and detailed. The insurance company stated it was one of the most detailed and itemized report they had received.

They also inspected a new construction for us and noted several non compliance issues. Once these issues were brought to the builder's attention he agreed to make corrections prior to drywall installation.
