We are so pleased with our solar + battery system, installed March 2025. Landon spent a lot of time with us up front, helping us choose the right system and very patiently answering all our questions. Ziandra got the permit approved with Logan City and kept us informed on our project's status throughout the process. (Note Apollo is approved to work in Logan City which requires a higher level of certification and licensure; not all solar installers are). It took a little time to get everything ordered, but then David got us scheduled and Dillon and his team did a great job on the installation. They came when they said they would, kept us apprised of their daily progress, and were respectful of our time and space. The team did neat work and always cleaned up. Dillon walked us through the new system and answered questions, and even shoveled the snow off the driveway after it avalanched off the new panels. Everyone is professional and really cares about getting the project done right. We highly recommend Apollo Energy!

I enlisted Apollo to install a complete solar, ATS, battery system, and in conjunction, upgrading my entire existing electrical infrastructure; which included ripping out two old panels, combining the circuits, and installing one, combined sub panel. It should be noted that I interviewed 3 different installers for this full outfit on my home. Apollo won by an obvious landslide for their diverse skillset and professionalism.

Apollo installed solar panels and a 240v EV charger outlet at my home, and updated my electric panel. They were 4k less than the highest bid, which had a similar configuration, and were about 6k higher than the low bid company who didn't know what they were doing. While Apollo was working, a state official came by and asked to see their licenses...the official said that there are many fly-by-night companies that take advantage of customers, but that Apollo clearly knew what they were doing.

What went well: The solar system and EV charging outlet is working well, the updated electrical panel is organized and labeled well. When a new exterior outlet wasn't working, they came back and replaced the faulty outlet. They sent an engineer to look at my home for the initial design. Dillon and the panel install team worked quickly and well. I enjoyed seeing their teamwork and how the more experienced employees trained the new ones.

What could be improved: Two months before the install, they told me the week they would be here, but didn't communicate after that. I got an out-of-office greeting when I tried to confirm the week before, so was a surprised when they knocked on our door at 7:30am on the Monday of the install week, which caused my tenants to complain about the lack of notice.

They needed to cut a hole in my garage ceiling to pull a cable through for a separate garage electric panel, and didn't close it when they finished the job. They did come later, at my request to close it.

They installed the solar panels the week of August 5, but we couldn't turn them on until August 29 because of them initially failing the Murray City inspection (due to a paperwork problem) and problems paying Murray City for the two-way meter. I wish I had paid Apollo half when they finished the install and half when the system was turned on, instead of paying them in full after the install, so they would have pushed a little harder to get the system turned on sooner. I could see that Apollo was really busy juggling the needs of many clients.

After the upgraded electric panel was installed, the fridge didn't come back on. Dillon and David troubleshot that the breaker switch the fridge was connected to was faulty, and replaced that. For several hours, it appeared that the faulty breaker switch fried the electrical components of the fridge display, but it reset itself overnight and the fridge worked normally after that.

Considering everything, I would hire them again. I'm pleased with my system.

Edit (three months after install on 11/14/2024):
1 month in: I found shingles on the ground. Cody investigated with a drone and didn't find any areas that could cause a roof leak, suggesting the installers just missed throwing the shingle in the trash when they cut it out for the install.

2 months in: the app stopped showing my energy production and consumption. The solar panel provider (Enphase) said the meters Apollo installed were not functioning. I emailed Cody but haven't heard back.

2.5 months in: my tenants complain that one of the bathrooms regularly smells like sewer. My handyman says it may be due to the roof vent to it being blocked, and pointed out that the roof vent was right next to the solar panels and possibly some debris entered during the install process. I emailed Cody to see if he could check with his drone camera, but haven't heard back.

3 months in: my fridge's electronic control panel died. The repairman said the main board failure could be related to damage from the initial faulty breaker switch installed by Apollo. Landon from Apollo thought they weren't related and the failure was due to the 12-year age of my fridge. Neither of us knows for sure, and the conversation was very disagreeable. I felt Landon misrepresented what happened on install day as we tried to discuss. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

David and the rest of the Apollo crew were great on our project. It wasn't something they had done before but they stepped up and knocked it out of the park. They helped install the first floating solar array in Utah! Every team member I have interacted with was professional, courteous and conscientious. I have no problem recommending them for any scale of project you might have.

Very happy with the work from Apollo Energy. They have been very responsive throughout the whole process and did everything they could to make the process better. If they could just figure out how to control the weather it would’ve been even easier.
