We’ve been contracted with Adapt Designs on a major interior home remodel since October of 2023 (still ongoing), and Adapt has been outstanding.

Brent is a thoughtful, inventive, and highly organized architect. He has respected our ideas and priorities throughout the process, kept us realistic about our budget, and found creative ways to engineer cost savings into the project where possible. His design choices for the elements where we didn’t know what to ask for or where we left it up to his judgment have all been fantastic and complimented our own vision beautifully. His passion is clear in every aspect of what he does and he has been a proactive and responsive communicator throughout.

I’m comfortable saying that Adapt Designs exceeds my highest standards for expertise and professionalism. Easy 5 star review, and my strongest recommendation for anyone, but especially for those with a project that really matters to them.

I would steer clear. Brent gave a phenomenal sales visit and then the quality of communication and listening deteriorated. Didn't seek to understand our needs, pushed hard on projects that would benefit his construction company, ignored or forgot written and verbal agreements (including, critically, on billing), missed multiple promised deadlines without explanation or any outreach. He wouldn't admit to any mistakes or misunderstandings and defensively insisted that I, the client was wrong, despite a clear record indicating otherwise. Never offered to make it right. Not the kind of person I enjoy doing business with.

We were fortunate enough to find Brent after we purchased a house that required a major remodel. He walked the house with us and patiently listened to all the changes we were thinking about. He was very knowledgeable about what changes were possible and was as excited about the project as we were.

Brent has brought our dream house to life with a plan that is even better than we expected or could have planned. He is always very easy to talk to and always replies to messages in a very quick timeline. He listened to everything that we were wanting, added some creative concepts, and tied it all together in one awesome design. I am very confident that the investment we made in his services will more than pay for itself with the increased house value his thoughtful design will bring and his diligent work to keep us within our budget. I met with Brent for a design of a garage addition in march/april of 2022 when he told me that he'd be able to get me plans that summer (ballpark cost of $3500). 20/20 hindsight, yeah that would never happen, but he told me he'd be able to. It was July before we saw plans that were ready for structural review which is where I got my first surprise. Brent's "my structural guy" turned out to be an entirely different outfit entirely. Who then quoted me $4800 for structural calculations. So now my $3500 plans are approaching $8000, before a muni permit. Long story short, it was August 2022 before I got plans/structural calcs which I then took to the city and submitted for a permit. Now i'm into this thing for ~$10k. This is when the real fun began. I submit the plans and calcs, city comes back with ~15 comments. Steven, the structural guy, answers most and the city comes back with 5 of the same comments. Steven then answers them and the city comes back with 20 comments. I guess the reviewer retired and it was given to another reviewer. At this point, Steven ghosts me and Brent can't do calculations. We are well into the summer of 2023 at this point and I still don't have plans. No other structural reviewer will touch the plans either because they don't want to clean up after someone else's mess. And Steven is out of state, so going after him for breach of contract is a no go unless you want to get a lawyer involved. To not waste your time. 10k down the drain, no garage plans (canceled the permit in 2024), and a very strong recommendation to choose someone else.
