The dealership is very clean, comfortable, and nice. However, I would highly recommend shopping around before trading in or selling anything. After buying 3 cars from this dealership and despite having my Outback serviced here, I was offered $4k less than CarMax actually paid for it 750 miles later (CarVana offered $3,900 more, so you know where the outlier is). I know they have a business to run, but man was that extremely disappointing.

Unrelated, but their finance guy with the nice beard is very good and knowledgeable.

Early this morning dropped by to check if an oil change service, was available for my Outback? I was told to come back at 1:30 today. After arriving for my service to my car this afternoon I was told it would be a hour and a half wait. I offered to make an appointment earlier this morning and was told by the tech it wasn’t needed. To say I wasted a lot of time working around their schedule left me without a service to my car and very disappointed in Modern of Subarus Service department.

Alex at Modern Subaru is absolutely fantastic. His willingness to help us truly blew me away. He, without a doubt, is a good human. I cannot thank him enough for everything he did for myself, my husband, and our children. From having everything ready to sign when we got there, to interacting with the kids, to helping my husband move over car seats, and making sure we were comfortable during the entire process. WORST! Service ever. I called for one simple question that could easily be answered over the phone but they could not answer it and had an attitude about it. I called a local car shop and they were able to answer all questions and give me a price and set up an appointment without me having to come in.

Horrible customer service. Had car taken to service from other repair shop for assistance. They never responded to repair shop or us for the first few days. They made an appointment for it and then never got to it. After multiple times of calling they said they were looking at it that day. Never heard back. Went by the department after 4 days. A man introducing himself as the service manager came up to me and was extremely rude and blamed the repair shop for bringing it to them. He said, "they would get to it when they get to it". I was just asking about an update as it had been there for 4 days and it had not been looked at. He said it was the repair shops fault and he didn't have the "man power" at the moment to fix their mistake. I did take notice that the service lobby had about 8 or so people in it and everyone was just standing around talking to each other or on their phones. I said we would call back tomorrow for an update and he cut me off and said they would call us when they have an update. The next day we were told it was a smaller issue than they believed and they were working on it today. It was not ready though until 3 days later. We never heard from them that it was done, just went by after 7 days of it being there and they let us take it. When they called 2 days prior to give a price they said it would be about $400, When we got there it was $600. I will never be taking anything to this service department again as I have never been spoken to in such a unprofessional and condescending manner.

My family and I came to Boone to enjoy a little hiking etc. On the way here, our Forester started acting up. With the help of Matt Green in the service dept, he quickly got us back on the road. We liked this group better than our local Subaru dealer back home (Darell Waltrip) and plan to use them in the future.

This was one of the best experiences, I have every had with a dealership. I called them about a car Modern Subaru had listed on the internet, and spoke with Kendell Berry, he told me he was not a salesman but a retired teacher. HE was very transparent about all the numbers on the price, and told me exactly what the price would be.

He had the car cleaned up, with a full tank of gas and made everything a very smooth and pleasant experience. Then after the purchase, he called me 3 more times to follow up to make sure everything was great, and I was happy.

He went above and beyond the service of any salesman I have ever dealt with. I just wish they were closer to where I live but the 3 hour drive to get the car was beautiful. Thanks Kendall.
