This retreat is an Alabama jewel. The cabins are nice, new, rustic and well finished. A five star resort next to a national forest. Nice owners and caretakers.

It’s a shame that the people wanting to criticize the owners who bought this property and built these amazing cabins here are being treated like they did something wrong! Last time I checked we live in a free country and if you BUY the property you have a right to protect your investment! Maybe the people who are complaining should go out and spend a million dollars and get their own property…just saying!
This is a great addition to an already wonderful place…

We have stayed at Pinhoti Tidge Retreat twice and we love it here! The cabins are new and very well appointed. They have everything you need for a fabulous vacation including a grill at each site and 2 large covered porches on every cabin. The cabins and the grounds are super clean with a beautiful, large stream flowing right next to the property. It has become one of our favorite spots for a relaxing getaway.

We used to come up once a year and camp on the creek. We always cleaned up the pathetic mess that locals left behind and left it better than we found it. Not sure how you can block a public roadway with a fancy gate as the national forest property is supposed to be accessible to all not just wealthy interlopers. Sad they aren’t sharing with the community, but I guess at least some of the trash won’t be washing down stream anymore. Also, too bad they won’t allow respectful folks to camp there.

Typical “retreat”
Installing a gate on a public road that countless people have used and enjoyed for the better part of a century. Anything to make a dime though, right? Catering to outsiders while you ostracize the locals.

It's not jeep club guys that believe the gate is wrong. This is public land rights we are talking about. If is was right for him to do so then he would not have been ordered to open gates and cover signage. This guy is very petty and his attorney just the same. We will not lose our public land rights because this guy wants to make money off of something that has been cared for and maintained by many for many of years.

Gorgeous retreat. Stayed there not long ago and it was amazing. It was very clean and well kept. Everything worked as it should and made our stay very enjoyable and relaxing. We will definitely be visiting again.

Stayed in Cabin 5 for Christmas, it was wonderful! Beautiful cabin, lots of room, wood stove, porch, grill, train downhill, peaceful.
