I give this court zero stars because if I don't show up for court I get a judgement placed against me but the judge let this guy go all the way until March 12th.
I was in a motel and paid almost $100 a day from the 3rd until day 7th. On the Virginia state law 55.1 - 2200 say specifically that I should have had a 5-day notice especially after I called the police to uphold that the defendant did not show up for court.

WARNING: Based on my experience, I learned that this courts clerk is married to the mayor of the town. They did not follow ADA guidelines. Two of the judges opperate in an unprofessional manner. Sherry laughed at my complaint on her. They "lost" some of my paperwork. In my opinion this court is filled with tyrants, and I recommend you transfer or reject any transfers here. Violations at federal level and should be reported to the FBI.

In my few visits I learned they protect their family and friends here. Clerks are rude one is married to the mayor leaving room for favoritism. The people running this town are keeping the people suppressed and breaking federal laws and guidelines

I received a ticket for driving while holding a phone. I take full responsibility for that even though I was using the GPS to find a place in that tiny town. The officer checked the box that says I do not need to appear in court just pay the fine. I attempt to pay the fine and the rudest, nonprofessional person I’ve encountered in 2022 says “well he shouldn’t have checked the box”. And that wasn’t all she said. Mind you, this is the day before court and I’m out of town. So now they’ve tacked on a no show fine to the sum of >$250. I’ve heard about Petersburg being a corrupt city where their city officials done know their back from front. But this puts the stamp on it for me. I don’t have a choice but to pay the additional costs but your city will never prosper and I hope the people that work in the courts don’t either. Rude, unprofessional and lacks basic skills!!! but I’m sure no one will fix it, they’ve been this way for years is my understanding…..

So far I give this place 1 star My sons Case was transferred here Aug 22 by Kimberly Kirkjuan(Bad Judge in Newport News I’m currently filing a complaint on her) but today I called to see when I would be heard for my show cause and from what I found out It had Not even been looked at until I called same way that I did not know this case was transferred to Petersburg until I called Petersburg Clerks office this has to be done form of malpractice and denial of due process.
